lol, I thought it was more than that!
We'll win, and then Dumars will draft Embiid just to make sure we have enough centers on the team.

If I had to selectively choose which teams win the lottery, I'd wager the Celtics, Lakers and Kings- in that order.

Very conspiracy theory slanted picks

If we win Jabari Parker, I wouldn't know what to do. Somehow Dumars (if he stays on still pls no) will mess it up though.

Re: We Finally Win The Lottery!!!!
Yeah, I've found myself playing the ESPN Lottery Simulator recently, too; quite a statement that our fan base has started rooting for ping pong balls instead of playoff games.
Truthfully, though, catching lightning in a bottle at the Lottery is the best thing that could ever happen for our franchise. Forget about managing to tank our way to 8th place, keeping our pick and getting Hood, Saric or Harris; what we need is a real stroke of luck that returns Wiggins or Parker. THAT, in one fell swoop, would change the entire direction of this team 'cuz we'd have a true second superstar to build around with Drummond (think OKC getting Durant and Westbrook). Suddenly, imagine resigning Monroe as our 2nd offensive option and 3rd best overall player. It's a lot easier to contemplate dealing with fixing our team if we're doing it around TWO true young studs as opposed to just one.
Which begs the question — who ya got, Wiggins or Parker? I have to cop to having not watched enough college hoops this year (I'll make up for that in the next month), but I tend to lean towards Wiggins based upon higher potential upside; of course, the Lotto Simulator has us taking Parker #1, and I really think both are can't miss prospects (especially if you consider them playing off / with Drummond and potentially Monroe, too).

I'm hoping we take Wiggins with that pick.

I know, right.
If it was rigged- those would be my most likely targets, Philly being in play as well.

I like Parker. But, I think he's a 4 in the NBA, basically a more athletic Kevin Love. I don't know if he can play the 3, like Wiggins?
Wiggins hasn't been a slouch by any means, either. It would be a real toss up for me. Go with the slightly better prospect, or with the better fit? Wiggins would probably be the pick.

I take BPA, even if it's Embiid.

Embiid is overrated IMO. I think he'll have an ibaka type impact. He's not Hakeem or Duncan like some suggest.

Re: We Finally Win The Lottery!!!!
people like to compare parker to melo, but i think he'll be more of a rich man's jeff green: very good scorer, pretty good jumper, average to below average at everything else. his lack of elite athleticism will hurt him on defense no matter what position he plays. if i'm the GM, i'll take my chances, give me wiggins

If there's one thing Andre proved, it's if you have one bad year at college, it doesn't mean you can't be good/great in the NBA. I would rather have Wiggins.

Re: We Finally Win The Lottery!!!!
I don't think we're good enough that we have the luxury of drafting for need/fit/role.
I believe we'd have more leverage after you select that player than if you trade the pick in advance. Maybe fewer teams would be knocking on the door, but they'd be knocking harder.
It would open up trade possibilities if people were coveting all three of Monroe and Drummond and Embiid.
I mean, there are 96 minutes to go around at the post positions and if we had the right coach...
KCP 24/Smith 12/Singler 12
Monroe 24/Smith 24
Drummond 32/Embiid 8 and Monroe 8
Embiid gets more minutes if we're winning handily, if Smith is mucking things up and needs to be pulled, or if there's foul trouble.

Embiid appears to be the consensus top pick at the moment. Trading down and getting Wiggins or Parker would make the most sense.

Yes something like the CWebb trade would seriously turn this team around. Embiid for Parker and 3 1st rd picks works for me. Orlando would trade us Parker, Afflalo and a future 1st for Embiid, Bynum and Jerebko.

Re: We Finally Win The Lottery!!!!
Assuming he (Embiid) declares and whoever is #2 wants him bad enough to give us an extra asset to trade up, I make that deal 10 times out of 10 -- then take Wiggins.
One thing you need to remember about Wiggins -- he's a full year or so younger than Parker....
