Caron Butler

Bucks are buying out Butler. If I were management I would buy out CV, add Butler at SF, have Moose back up Smoove and Penguin for the rest of the season and watch us sneak into the playoffs. I'd also use Mitchell as the primary backup at SF and see what happens the rest of the season

Jennings/Bynum
Singler/Stuck/KCP
Butler/Mitchell/Singler
Smoove/Moose
Dre/Moose

The major flaw in your plan is assuming Butler would even want to come to Detroit.

You're assuming Butler wants to play for Detroit when the media is already suggesting that he'll play in Miami?

He'll join Miami and go for a title run.
Why would he want to come off the bench in Detroit instead of Miami??

If we wanted Butler we probably could've traded Stuckey or CV for him a week ago. There doesn't seem to be interest from either side in him playing here.

If we were still going for the playoffs, I agree he would've been a nice addition (I wanted to trade Stuckey for Butler/Neal), but it appears now that this team is tanking so not much use for Butler anymore anyways

Yes, if we wanted him, we should have traded for him. I'm sure he'll be happy in Miami or anywhere else that has a team going to the playoffs.

Players take buyouts to play for good teams not bad ones.

I'll take Butler, but not if that means we're moving Monroe to the bench. I don't know about that idea.

Butler just agreed to sign with the Thunder for the remainder of the season.

In no surprise to anyone, he did not consider the Pistons. :D

Detroit does not have bad players. We lack the correct rotation. By solidifying our lineup based on talent by position, Caron would've definitely started at SF. It was a wish that I publicized. For the first time in my life I am hoping we tank and get a top 5 pick in this draft. I am also hoping that Gores forgets about Thomas as GM and goes for Billups instead!!

My purpose for suggesting Moose to the bench is so we could showcase Smith at PF and perhaps get a trading partner to take him off our hands at the end of the year. Moose stays, the chucker goes!!

Why would anyone ever want to join this nightmare?

Precisely.
