Some Questions?

I'm a Raptor fan but did live in Southfield and Bloomfield Hills for 4 years in mid 70s and can understand the Piston fans frustration this year.
Question #1 obviously Smith, Monroe and Drummond troika are not a winning proposition and the majority want Smith moved and Monroe kept. Where I fail to see the logic is why keep Monroe I know till Drummond came he was the face of the franchise. But he isn't and will never be a PF he is a C and while he is offensively gifted and a good rebounder. He is a disaster defensively, has no range, clogs up the offense and isn't fast enough against PFs.
Yet everyone want to keep him when he has a reasonable trade value for players you need. You have cap flexibility which would be wasted signing him to a large contract.
Question #2 there seems to be a desire to make the playoffs rather than tank today Cleveland passed you putting you 6th in the East and 9th overall. NYKs should pass you and if you tank and get your pick back you can get a good player.
Question #3 In moving Smith which can be done but it entails something like this Hayes, Fields & Novak for Smith basically 2 useless player and one specialist but 2 with contracts that expire next year. I'm not suggesting it as a trade because I doubt Raptors would do it but illustrates Smiths value. But it would insure a tank another year then a well thought out rebuild with Demars gone.
Love to have Detroit more competitive.
