There's plenty to go around when Detroit lays that many bricks.

I read that our team FG% for the season is incredibly average, so it's actually not a result of bad shooting that's making him that good of an offensive rebounder. He's just that good.

He's definatley a elite rebounder with potential to be a elite defensive player in time. I expect him to be like a Ben Wallace clone in those two categories in a few years but with better offense. Wallace avg 15.4 Rebs and 3.5 blks in a season once. I would like to eventually see Dre do that with around 16-18ppg.

If there was 1 thing I wish dre had like wallace would be that killer instinct and that old school attitude, the kind of attitude where you can look at him and see his not to be **** with, wallace had that in spades.

Yup, Drummond needs to toughen up some. Play with more aggression and force. It's coming along, but he's not there yet. Eventually, with his physical gifts, you have to think he'll stop deferring.

Figured you guys might like this quick blurb about Drummond in a Big Al article on SI:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nba/ne ... e-bobcats/

Detroit center Andre Drummond, schooled on consecutive nights in February to the tune of 61 points and 20 boards, texted Jefferson: "I learned a lot from getting my ass kicked. I'd like to work with you all summer." Big Al beamed. He has plenty of space for Drummond in the 12,000-square-foot house he built for his mother on the lot where the trailer used to be.

Might not happen, but Drummond could do a lot worse than working with Big Al over the summer.

Joking aside, there's a lot of truth in this statement. Drummond is a very good rebounder, but you can't discount the fact that a function of that is due to the horrible shooters he plays with.

That would be awesome. Big al is one of the few players who plays his size.

I dont know his rebounding rate has been impressive since coming into the league. His rookie season and even stupid events like summer league and rising stars.

...Always playing with bad shooters. Last year he played a lot of his minutes with CV and Bynum. Summer league is full of bad volume shooting, and this year is obvious.

Man I've been thinking a lot this season that Big Al is the perfect person for him to work out with. Dude is a wizard on that block.

Agreed on Al Jefferson. He's one of the few players I pay attention to from other teams. The youtube channel "Dawk Ins" has a lot of highlight videos on him and I just watch in amazement.

Even if poor shooting by his teammates were a contributor, his RB% is in a league of its own and passes all tests. The only external contributor to that ~may~ be the fact that Smith's perimeter chucking takes him out of position and that he'd steal from rebounds from Dre if he spent more time in the paint.

I'd like to believe that Drummond is just that damn good, though.

Yeah,
indeed if our team are throwing cauliflowers from downtown
it isn't difficult to collect them.
But have to give em credit for his positioning.
