Would you bring Stuckey back at the right price?

Yes, he's still a useful player for the right contract.

Nope. I think it's best for all parties if he heads elsewhere. Money being equal I think he'd choose to leave to a winning situation with a stable environment not a new coach/system every 1.5 years - so only way he'd stay would be a big time overpayment by the Pistons. Even if he really liked being here and would offer a hometown discount I'd say "Thanks, but no thanks" because I just believe this lockerroom needs a fumigation and a new coach/GM would be better chance at culture change and success with a new group of players rather than current cliques and the like and "that's not how we do things".

Also we could be stuck with Jennings, and could use him off the bench in the 6th man scorer role or the threat of it to get him to buy into any future system/demands of the new staff. Letting Stuckey go would allow the new GM to bring in a new PG option (or combo gueard who can play the point) to push Jennings, rather than everybody knowing Stuckey isn't a point and thus Brandon being the only big minute pg on the roster and thus largely unaccountable.

If some team was willing to do a sign and trade I'd be open to it but under no circumstances should he be brought back here.

Part of the problem, not part of the solution

I'd prefer to let him walk. Let KCP get another opportunity to play meaningful minutes. Don't get me wrong- KCP has stunk, but he should at least have a proper opportunity.

Also, Stuckey just represents a time when this franchise was at it's worst. He's a willing loser, and generally believed to be a bad influence in the locker room (One of the main disagreements Frank had with Dumars was demanding that Stuckey be traded as he was a negative locker room influence, Dumars didn't agree.)

This team needs to move on already from him.

They should have moved on from him 3 years ago.

I would rather have stuckey running point than jennings next year,if we cant or dont sign a better pg,then I would honestly prefer stuckey and move on from jennings.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with most people. GET HIM OUT OF DETROIT!!! But for the right price? If I'm not paying him much, I'd gladly keep him. But let him go. Let him walk. He's nothing special.

No. The guy doesn't want to be here and hasn't made any considerable strides despite being handed the starting PG position early in his career.
and I'm bitter that we telegraphed his selection leading up to the draft, and that we prematurely moved Aaron Afflalo when he was a steal in that draft class.

I believe the Stuckey era is over. I'm 10-toes-in for helping him get to a contender through sign and trade in the off-season.

Can he expect much more than that on the market?

I completely agree. I was disappointed when they signed him to a 3-year extension.

It's ridiculous that he's still on this roster when he easily could have been flipped for some kind of asset at the deadline, as numerous reports bubbled up of teams inquiring about him.

I would say Stuckey is worth about Tony Allen or Courtney Lee money. Something like 5.0-5.7mil per year. The question is, how long's the contract.

Nope, nope, nope...

I was ready for the "Stuckey Era" to end 4 or 5 seasons ago.

Agreed.

Easily our best wing this year & its not close.

Only person on this roster who can create his own shot sadly.

At the right price, but the right price isn't that high. I view him as part of the problem and that the Pistons will never really change the culture until they start getting rid of the guys who helped spoil the culture of the Pistons.

I voted yes, and Spider already posted my exact reasoning — while I'd prefer to see him go, that's a stupid way to run a business or team. Aside from a few extreme examples, you sign anyone FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. Building a team in any sport is all about talent evaluation and money/cap management, so you simply never pass up the chance to sign a player for at or less than you feel is their market value. That's how you construct a winning roster, from top to bottom — sign players who out-perform their contracts.

Honestly, do I think we'll be able to do that with Stuckey? Probably not, as I imagine he'll command more than I'd be comfortable paying. But again, "at the right price?" With that caveat, the answer is always yes.
