Lottery Conspiracy Theories

We've had "interesting" things happen in the past with the lottery. Who will be the winners this year?
I can't help but think that either Boston or the Lakers will win the lottery. I think Sacramento, Milwaukee and the Pistons don't have a chance at the top pick.
I will go insane between now and the draft lottery. Let's just get it over with already.

1. Lakers - They get Wiggins, then sign Love & Kyrie next summer. Everyone's heads explode.
2. Jazz - Parker. Him going to Utah is like sending Lebron to Cleveland.
3. Cleveland - Embiid. The league is obsessed with making up for the Decision and we all have to feel bad for Nick Gilbert.
We get screwed.

Think Boston wins and gets there choice, Lakers get 2/3 and exum, Bucks drop to 4 and still get 1 of the top 3, Randle drops to Pistons and we trade the pick

If Milwaukee called and offered Greek Freak for 8 would you guys take it?
I know they won't, just throwing an idea out there.
Edit: Sorry thought this was the draft thread.

I like the guy, but no... another athlete that can't shoot isn't what we need, and since (if we keep the pick) we're absolutely losing our pick next year, there's no reason to take someone even further from contributing than the player we could get at #8.

Detroit is probably the most disrespected sports city which sucks because we have a legit up and coming superstar player on the team. It' would be nice if we got "lucky" just once.

If you believe in the conspiracy theory, you assume that they give the top picks in a loaded draft to the biggest markets. That's why Chicago wins when Rose is the top pick, and Milwaukee wins when Bogut is the best prospect.
If that is our impetus; the lottery winners would likely be the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.
They're the 3 largest markets in the lottery.
I try not to believe there's a conspiracy, as that undermines the integrity of the entire game.
At least they're not doing frozen envelopes anymore.

Lakers and Celtics are getting the top two picks book it
But you have to wonder, Gores did buy a franchise and is due some kind of kick back.
Hopefully Silver delivers

People who say things like this only look at part of the data.
Lebron James ended up in Cleveland when Miami, Chicago, and LA were in the lottery. Portland and Seattle, a team that moved a couple years later, landed Greg Oden and Kevin Durant while Boston dropped like a rock and New York didn't get a sniff. Anthony Davis ended up in the bayou. Neither the soon to be Brooklyn Nets nor Philly got the number one pick when Wall came out in an otherwise unremarkable draft.
Its confirmation bias. People expect to see a conspiracy and so they only look at the data that supports it.

Lakers end up with Wiggins or Parker without a doubt.

I just want the 2nd pick. Although I'm strongly leaning towards Parker over Wiggins so maybe we need the 1st pick

I agree. Confirmation bias all the way.
We can always create a reason as to why so and so won the lottery.

DUDE F* THE FIRST PICK, that's not detroit basketball
I hope we get the 8th pick, something comes out about parker being a thug and poor work ethic , then he slides all the way to 8, we pick him, and then our board gets raided by fans who troll or say they know he's going to be a allstar. Then we spend a entire year critizing every single move the kid makes in his development, call him overrated and then we fire a coach. To only go back to the lottery
