looking for fanboy trade ideas

how would you manage the remaining roster if you keep the pick? obviously it depends who you pick.

If it means unloading Josh Smith, then by all means, yes.

if wiggins and parker were off the board, then sure, why not? i suppose to could take exum and run, but even he has some major questions about his ability to be a PG. at this point, we might as well swing for the fences. he seems like a good, smart kid, so there's probably hope we can mold him into the player we need.

I don't trade a top 3 pick unless the deal is amazing. If New Orleans call me up and offers Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson for the #1-3, and Josh Smith, I'll gladly pull the trigger.

Otherwise, I'm keeping the pick and taking Wiggins or Parker.

You do not need to package a top 3 pick with Josh Smith just to trade him. That's moronic.

Yup, Josh Smith still has more value than we give him credit for. It's not worth giving up a potential superstar just to get out of his contract.

Nope. That's what the Clippers did, and Cleveland got Kyrie Irving out of it.

Of course, Baron Davis had much less value than Smith, but the point remains the same.

If Parker and Wiggins are off the board than I would offer it to Cleveland for Kyrie. I would also make them take back Jennings as well in the deal.

If wiggins and Parker are off the board, of course I would do it. At the same time, imbiid will be better than Monroe. A lot of teams would give up a lot for that pick and I would certainly trade down and get back some amazing talent.

Yeah you can get Kyrie for the pick. I would certainly do it. I think we could also get their pick from them too. Dumars is dumb enough to do it lol

Draft picks don't always pan out no matter how high. Josh Smith, so far, hasn't panned out. A top 3 pick with Smith should be enticing for a lot of teams. If you're expecting the trade to be a straight salary dump, then my apologies. I wouldn't do that.

There are lots of trades that I'd do with this combo.

Minnesota out: Love, Rubio, their #13
Minnesota in: Jennings, JSmoove, #1-3,

GSW out: Curry, Lee, Barnes
GSW in: Jennings, JSmoove, #1-3

etc, etc.

It is easy to make trades that will work. Not sure how bad someone wants picks #1-3

This draft class is a bit overrated. I don't think teams would even consider such a trade of that caliber unless their stars wanted out.

As stated earlier, Josh Smith still has decent value and his contract isn't too bloated for his talent level. He can definitely contribute more than what Villanueva has, and he's infintely more tradeable than CV. We might not get equal value, but it's not worth giving up the Top 3 pick to dump Smith.

A top 3 pick this year should be every Pistons fans' wet dream. Unless we get an established superstar in return (and that superstar is willing to sign an extension, not just bolt like Love and Irving probably will), then NOPE! If we were to be that lucky, we better keep that pick. I want to pair Drummond with Wiggins, Exum or Parker.

Agree that it is overrated. The top 3 picks could certainly help us, help us a lot. But the question was would we be willing to trade a top 3 pick? It all depends on what the trade is, but it certainly should be open for discussion.

If the return is right, then of course you can trade a top 3 pick, but i wouldn't trade it to move Smoove unless we're getting one helluva return though.
Trade Smith to NO for gordon and pick Wiggins. Done.
