What happened to Harrellson?

Post#1 » by The Moose » Wed Apr 23, 2014 1:54 pm

I almost forgot he was on the team by the end of the season. He played 0 minutes in the last 36 games....

What happened to Jorts? He went from bench big to less than Gigi and Tony Mitchell without it ever really being discussed.

I guess we had a lot to play for in those last 36 games :banghead:

He allegedly hurt his knee.

Jonas got upset he wasn't playing and threatened to opt out so we had to make sure to play him enough to keep him happy.

Pre Loyer Jonas averaged 7.7 MPG, after Loyer it went to 15 MPG

I assumed they were playing Jonas in an attempt that he would convince himself that he should opt-out and a market would be there for him.

Maybe he's thinking if they double my playing time, they just double my paycheck...

Does it matter?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

There is no conspiracy. He tore a meniscus in his knee a week before the coaching change. That is why he was out and Jonas got a bigger look under loyer.

If that's the case we should have taken steps to encourage him to opt out.

JORTS!!!! I was lobbying for him to get PT all season. he's actually a good fit next to drummond as a floor spacer/glue guy.

I loved what Jorts was doing early in the year before his injury. I think it was more of a fake injury because no one really talked about it and he was just out for weeks. He does a lot of things I loved about pre-injury Jonas.

He was likely hurt but with the way this organization is running things, I don't even know if that is a concrete answer.

He's a solid backup hustle guy, we could've used him.
