User With Most Posts on RealGM. Who was he/she?

Hi guys,

First off, I just want to say that with the firing of Dumars, I hope you guys hire a quality and competent GM to help propel the Pistons franchise into a playoff team built around Drummond. And I wish you all the best of luck.

With that being said, does anyone remember the name of the user who had the most posts on RealGM. He/she used to post on the Pistons board, in this news thread on his/her own a few years back I think? Does anyone remember him/her, and username? I'm just really curious, and it's bothering me because I can't remember the name of that person.

Did he get banned for posting too much? I thought I remember it that way. He did have an unbelievably high number of posts though. Maybe he was secretly a machine.

Creating a thread and posting never ending stories in it us an easy way to "post pad".

Back in the day 1000 posts made you a Real GM...now I couldn't tell you what it takes.

Having artificial ranks encourages spamming IMO.

And introducing And 1s at some random point in time means you can't use that as a basis for which posters are great and who isn't.

At the end of the day you tend to remember those you agree with a lot AND disagree with a lot...and you take that bias into every thread.

He didn't get banned - He was just told he wasn't allowed to continue his news threads and he apparently got angry (if robots can produce emotive responses) and quit this site cold turkey.

A math problem for anyone who is interested:

Jbanter has been a member of RealGM since 2009. He just made his 1st post. At this rate, how many years will it take jbanter to overtake NastyDaddy's post count?

5 years for 1 post #:-S ... NastyDaddy has 121442 posts. 121442*5 = 607,210 = he'll die first.

I really wonder why we show post counts. You can't discourage post padding while rewarding higher counts with different titles.

Sure you can.

Just suspend and ban people who post-pad, something the other mods and I never did with Nastydaddy.

I judge posters by content, personally. I don't care if you have 20K posts and several thousand And1's. Either your posts are good or they aren't.

As I said earlier, he was never banned. His thread was locked when mods and I (this was before I retired) decided enough was enough, as his threads were carrying his post count into the stratosphere despite never being read and it was becoming a bit of a joke among other posters.

I didn't expect him to leave the site the moment the thread was locked, but that is what happened. I do sometimes wonder what became of him. Nasty, if you're still out there, let us know...

I don't believe he's even visited the site in a few years, though, if memory serves.

Well said, some posters were offended with the volume of posts nasty daddy had.. but he had a passion for the team... if you were offended it would have been easy to place him on ignore or simply scroll past his posts... I found certain value with selectively scanning for content.

I do miss being able to read every bit Pistons info in 1 place and in a few mins be caught up with everything Pistons. I am one of those fans who appreciated his work. He was CNN for everything Pistons.

I wasn't around back then, but I guess you could say the Pistons were his Flight 370.

Not sure about YouTube but "other tubes" are more gratifying. No delays too.

To be honest, I was surprised to see that was my first post too. I thought I posted at least once.
