Or it could mean Monroe is not be resigned and Smith will move to PF. Or Monroe is being resigned and one of them will come off the bench next year.

Wow. If that's for real, I'm very intrigued.
First of all, probably not a bad move for Gores to talk with our highest paid player. Sounds like it was productive.
Secondly, if we already have a wink-wink unannounced deal with a coach, does that mean they are an assistant on a current playoff team? Otherwise, why wait?
And lastly, does this mean one of the temporary front office guys are going to move into the GM spot permanently? Because hiring a coach before a GM doesn't make a lot of sense.

This is a terrible option. Either play Drummond and Monroe together or just sign-n-trade Monroe. This either one of those has to come off the bench (it's not going to be Josh for sure) business is not going to work. It's a waste of time and cap space. It may even hinder possible growth of some of these young players because they do know what their roles are.
Getting rid of Smith or Monroe (both should be gone - in my opinion) should be one of the primary goals of the off-season. Who wants to watch that mismatch circus again?

yeah, all questions I'm wondering too.
Maybe if all this stuff has been decided already it means there will be announcement soon.
With the timing of all this, it could mean they were waiting for GS to be eliminated so they could hire Schlenk and Jackson, and now they are working out the details before announcing it.

I agree completely. I was just saying its a possibility that could happen.

This better not be real. Smith needs to be first out the door.

I think we are going to S&T Monroe for Bledsoe (yes please) or Hayward.
I think the only way I could begin to talk myself into Josh returning is if we successfully flip Monroe for Bledsoe and take Vonleh in the draft. If the Suns were able to sign Stephenson I could see them being amicable to Monroe for Bledsoe.

If Smith knows next coach - assuming it's Stan Van Gundy and SVG is getting total basketball side control as rumored - wouldn't it be up to SVG to say if Smith stays or goes?
Also it's better to pretend Smith is wanted here and will stay to raise his in the toilet value otherwise.

I don't want remove your enthusiasm, but Hayward and Bledsoe are RFA and at least Bledsoe is going to be matched even if he gets a max contract.

This screen shot has made it's way around the web today, and that page was confirmed fake on DBB already
http://www.detroitbadboys.com/2014/5/12 ... 1399913365I don't trust many internet basketball people, but I do trust Matt Watson's ability to confirm information

Bledsoe is a "no chance", but Hayward had a kinda bunk season though so we may have a shot.

I'm fully aware, Monroe is also a RFA. My point is basically a S&T for a S&T. The Suns have Dragic, perhaps if they were able to sign Lance Stephenson they'd be open to doing Bledsoe for Monroe. The Dragic-Bledsoe pairing worked last year but I don't know if that's how you really want to build your team moving forward, going into every game with a defensive mismatch.

When you got that backcourt you don't care about that. Dragic and Bledsoe are a perfect fit for each other.

Hoping it's not true, but to be honest if we were to hire Stan Van Gundy, Josh Smith would be a better fit than Monroe in a SVG system built around Drummond. In Orlando he built his team with the 1-4 as outside threats, and although Smith is terribly inefficient, let's not pretend that Moose has more range on his jumpshot than Smoove.
