Re: Wiggins
Has anyone ever referred to Andrew Wiggins as "Ender" before? It would be a travesty if that didnt become his nickname in the pros

I think there is a bit of optical illusion going on there. Not saying the kid doesn't have hops, but he doesn't have a rocket pack on his back either.

Meh. Ender's Game really doesn't sound like reference material that will stick.
Seriously, how many sports nicknames have be spawned for literature? I can't think of any.
Sure, there was a movie adaption earlier this year, but it was subpar.
On topic- Yes, Wiggins is an athletic specimen. If he has the work ethic to be great, he should easily be able to get there. I imagine Stan Van Gundy would be a great development coach for him.

Jabari's skill set is much more developed than Wiggins. But, Wiggins is so wildly athletic, he still put up similarly efficient stats and raw numbers.

+ Wiggins actually plays defense.

Yeah, I like Parker more... But it wouldn't surprise me if either of them ended up having a mediocre career either due to athleticism holding back Parker or Wiggins never developing a real solid offensive game and just having to rely on his athleticism.
I can also understand if we had the #1 pick taking either. Wiggins/KCP/Drummond trio are all insanely athletic and we could play a high tempo transition game. :?
Or Parker would be able to bring in a legit ISO half court game, someone we could count on to create his own shot at the end of games or deep in the clock. :? A potentially great floor spacer.
Wiggins needs to get bigger and Parker needs to get smaller if both want to be SFs in the NBA though.

We win with either one but Wiggins is another Drummond scenario where all he is missing is aggressiveness.
Parker is a killer though.
No way we can lose with 1 or 2.

Let's pray the basketball gods finally smile on us and we bounce into the top 3. C'mon, aren't we owed a mulligan from the 2003 draft?
I basically have two lines of hopeful thinking on the 2014 draft right now. Scenario one- we stay at 8, and Marcus Smart falls to us (not improbable).
Scenario 2- We pick first and take Wiggins, second and take Parker or third and take Exum.
I'm really hoping that Sacramento falls in love with Aaron Gordon's outstanding athletic numbers, and wants his defense paired next to Boogie's offense in Sacto. They've sniped good players out from under us the last few years. Getting tired of their sh*t.
