i just think its kind of funny everybody was hoping we were going to jump into the top 3 and i was just more concerned about keeping the pick. that long ass draft thread is all for naught now, unless we wanna start discussing how pick #38 is gonna save us next season

one final F you from Joey D and we have nothing to look forward to this offseason

McGary, and I'm not just being a U of M homer. We could use a pick and pop big off the bench, and he clearly would've been a first round pick had it not been for the injuries. And I don''t give two bowel movements about him smoking pot while out hurt, either.

And not to hijack, but what else now? Without our pick, is anyone more inclined to gamble on the trade front (like the Deron Williams deal)? What about our cap space, even assuming we wind up resigning Moose (which is no mortal lock)? SVG's first summer on the job just got a lot harder 'cuz he doesn't get to add a lotto pick to our mix, so how do you all want to see him play the hand he's been dealt?

You know Joe Dumars hopped out of his booth at whatever buffet he's at right now and cheered that he F'd the Pistons one last time.

As furious as I am about us losing our first round pick, there are still useful players to be drafted in the 2nd round or even picked up undrafted.

Mitch McGary- we all know him
Bogdan Bogdanovic - wing player with good size/length/athleticism, can shoot, doesn't appear to have a hole in his game
Spencer Dinwiddie - similar prospect to Bogdanovic, pretty much everything that describes Bogdanovic describes Dinwiddie, except Dinwiddie is recovering from a knee injury.
Damien Inglis - people are talking him up a lot, but I haven't actually read about him much
Fuqan Edwin - absolute pest on defense, really intense on that end, could work on his shooting but isn't an awful shooter, potentially an ideal 3+D guy
Kendall Williams - point guard with good size, speed, can get to the cup well, draws fouls decently, can shoot the ball well, projects to be an okay defender at least, perhaps better
Jerelle Benimon - do-it-all power forward who can run the fast break and handle the ball, shoot the 3, and rebound like mad. Undersized for a PF but really skilled, can pass the ball better than pretty much every true PF in this draft.

Inglis is the only one who I expect will be there when we pick, and the guys after him may all go undrafted, but I think that they'll turn out to be good players.

Agree on McGary. Some guys in the Draft Forum with no dog in the fight consider him a real sleeper.

A thousand %$& no's on Deron Williams.

All of a sudden our "best case scenario" looks pretty bleak in June.

I don't trust him to shoot well, and we can probably get him undrafted. The guy had a good year from 3, but he shoots around 60% from the free throw line and shot 25% from 3 the previous two season.

Ooo interesting idea, I do like him if he's available. Intangibles/toughness/strong drive ability/playmaker/strong rebounding guard. He's like Lance Stephenson, except less crack head appearance, and less shooting ability? I don't know if that's a fair comparison or not  maybe I could have came up with someone else. He's like Marcus Smart but worse.

James McAdoo

Strengths: Smooth forward with potential ... Great athlete with excellent run/jump ability ... Big frame that should continue to fill out quite nicely ... Strong finisher in the paint, due to length and body-control ... Aggressive rebounder who attacks the glass on both ends of the floor ... 7'1" wingspan and solid anticipation make him a threat as a shot-blocker ... Impressive outside shooting ability... High release point and developing range ... Outstanding skill-level all around ... Understands how to play in the post... Makes quick, confident and decisive moves with the ball around the basket ... Whether he's near the rim or on the perimeter, he finds ways to create space for himself ... Comfortable ball-handler, showing the ability to take a defensive rebound coast-to-coast by himself ... Runs the floor well with or without the ball... Good at drawing contact and getting to the free-throw line ... Wide shoulders help him set good screens … Clutch shooter that is not afraid to make big plays for his team... Unselfish, willing to make the extras pass ... Hard worker with great character ...

Weaknesses: At 6'8 1/2" he only has average size for his natural position at power forward, but does have the potential/skills to transition to the perimeter if he chooses ... Needs polishing and seasoning in developing his already promising ball-handling and passing skills if he wants to be a full-time wing player... Right now he relies on his outstanding natural instincts in the post, but should work on developing a few go-to moves...
