All in on Kyle Lowry

I think this is the way to go to make the biggest improvement to our team. Had a breakout in Toronto, matured into a complete floor general, willing leader - looks to make everybody better around him and include everybody. Toronto will want to keep him, but I think they might not be willing to overpay him.
Jennings is an immature knucklehead who will never get it. Look at the guys off court drama, look at his twitter feed, and then look at his on the court body of work.
Kyle included DeRozan, Val, Amir, Ross - whomever into the game. He won't just pass to Josh Smith or take his own shot. He's also not afraid to be "the guy" either and take the last shot. He's sort of like Chauncey Billups when we brought him in here -only he had his breakout in Toronto and is a little older at the same stage.
By not having a first rounder, we have an extra $2M to spend this off-season, and could use it to up any offer to Lowry. What does that do to Jennings - hell if I know. Can we trade him? His contract isn't terrible to move with two years and what 14-16M remaining. But nobody wanted him last off-season either. Flat out buy him out?

Jennings can go the bench.
Lowry would be the perfect fit. He was the leader of that Raptors team and the QB of the defense. We desperately need that sort of player. Plus he can shoot well and plays hard. He's exactly what we need at PG.
We'd certainly have to overpay a bit to pry him from Toronto, but I think that he'd be worth it.

This is our obvious course of action. It just depends on if SVG can get Lowry to buy in to this team's future.

The fact that SVG is our coach and that we have juggernaut-to-be Drummond in our corner might help in tempting him to sign that deal. But I still think it's a longshot. Our organisation as it is, isn't exactly free agency heaven and if he does, his decision would be based on a lot of intangibles. I say we offer him whatever we can cause I'm a big, big fan of Lowry and I think he'd work wonders for our chemistry and accountability on the team (dude is a pitbull it seems), but we're not first in the pack order here...

Or he could stay in Toronto with an All-Star backcourt mate in DeRozan, and you know, the other potentially good players they have in Ross/Amir/Val. They just made the playoffs and were close to being in the second round, and they have a lot more room for potential growth. He's like the leader of that team. That fan base was insane during the playoffs... I couldn't see him leaving for us and a couple mil.

^Worth a try though. He was chopped liver up there and almost traded to the Knicks until Dolan balked at the agreed to deal. Some Americans have an issue playing in Canada as well. Ujiri has said they want to keep him, but always with the "at the right price" caveat - maybe they lowball him and he's pissed by it. Doesn't hurt to reach out and kick the tires.
But I agree in the sense that if he leaves over a million here and there that his leadership qualities and priorities and reason why I want him here would be questioned.

Pretty sure that TOR intends to keep Lowry.

I want to throw a big contract at Bledsoe first and see if the Suns are bluffing. They said they would match any offer but lets find out. Build around Bledsoe, Drummond and Monroe.

Lowry isnt leaving Toronto. He's loved up here and i suspect the raps front office will be happy to overspend to keep him.

I'd love for this to happen but I don't think that the Suns are bluffing. They are desperate for star players/players with potential to be stars. They are not going to let Bledsoe go, imo.

I agree everything all in on Lowry, a good PG who is a leader, can defend and score efficiently could turn this team around ASAP. He is a very big reason why Toronto was any good this season.
PG is a critical position in the NBA, Lowry would fill so many needs. We need a **** load of money, Chauncey and SVG to convince Lowry to leave Toronto, but its worth a try for sure. Some people forget that Ujiri tried to trade Lowry very hard last december. Hell the Knicks could have gotten him for FELTON! if they would have included a 1st round pick -which they didn't.
Of course he and the Raptors had a great run after that, but you really have to test just how much money they are willing to commit for Lowrys services. This is Lowrys first and probably last big contract, i am sure every dollar counts.

Bledsoe would be good as well. Stan has said his first mission is to watch all 82 games of the Pistons from last season to see exactly what we got. Hopefully he sees how terrible Jennings is in all facets and that we can't go forward with him in such a key role.
Sarver has been known to be pretty damn cheap in the past as well hasn't he?
Another crazy assed idea - Steve Nash from LAL for Smith and Jennings. Lakers have little chance to improve otherwise as they don;t have trade chips and Jennings going home and Kobe controlling the lockerroom might be able to rein in Smith there as well. Lakers could do a lot worse than Kobe/Jennings/Smith, and Nash has one year left.

Oh they have a breaking point but would be willing to go to it is the question but the kid can be a difference maker.

Jeremy Lin for Josh Smith could be another short term fix/option.

I kinda like Jordan Hamilton too who they arent doing anything with. He could still develop into a solid SF.

Yeah, definitely worth a try. He'd be an amazing addition, I agree with that part of the suggestion. IF he did come here over like a couple million, that would also make me question his priorities and leadership qualities because then obviously it's just about the money..

. I just don't see him doing that because of the bond that was created in Toronto. It's worth a try. I mean, what are we out? He says no. Oh well... we'll spend the money elsewhere.
Ujiri was blowing that team up because they were going nowhere and everyone was up for trade, it just so happens that have they traded Gay they started winning games and pulled together. Once that happened, a lot if not all of of them guys came off the market since they realized they had something. I don't think he'd really hold a grudge against them for that.

They got a bunch of young players and draft picks. Gorin blew up and he's only going to get paid 7.5M over the next few years. They could rationalize paying more for Bledsoe to keep them together just because they're paying less than market value for their other guy. They're losing Emeka Okefor's expiring, Bledsoe's increase would most likely just take up that spot and they could field basically the same team as last year before any additions while still having some cap and not being in the luxury tax or anything like that. So I think they match.

How much cap space do you guys have?
