PG J.Jack trade Idea

Post#1 » by Ballboar » Sun Jun 22, 2014 1:06 am

I know Coach Van Gundy was a little harsh with the Cav's owner a couple weeks ago about moving the Pistons downtown but I'm sure everyone know why that came about. Anyway Pistons trade:PF Jonas Jerebko & PG Bynum For PG Jack. Why Decent veteran Back up PG for Irving. Jerebko & Bynum are in they're last year of their contract About 1 Mil savings better (this coming season) than Thornton trade. Why Pistons. Jack would replace Jennings as a starting PG And make Jennings Backup both guard positions

Jack is not a starting caliber PG, and in any event, we have a designated "Trade Thread" stickied at the top of the page for these sorts of suggestions. Post these there instead of creating a new thread for your individual idea.

Isn't there a trade thread for this?

He isn't a starter but he's so much better than Jennings, so I think I would do it

I like Jack. I think he's a prototypical pg and would do great under SVG. I'd much rather have him than Jennings

Jack is a solid, middle of the pack, NBA point guard. He has two guaranteed years left, the third is a team option, and 6.3 per isn't that bad. Jennings would be better off the bench and we'd actually pick up 1M in cap this summer. Our point situation is badly in need of a retooling and I'd strongly consider this as Detroit.

Let's see what the Trade forum thinks.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I would take the deal if we could shed Jennings' deal. Or of we got back some sort of compensation for the cap space.
