It's now official. One of my fav Pistons of all time but I can't say I didn't see this one coming.

Looks like Jameer might make his way to town?

Yeah, the timing of this is just too convenient. As soon as the official word that Jameer is being waived comes down, we decline our option on Billups almost immediately. Seems like SVG has the inside line here.

They had until yesterday to decline the option or it would become guaranteed money. There's zero coincidence, it just took a day to hit the news sites.

It's also spelled "Jameer".

Sad news of a smart move. Thanks for everything, CB; here's to the next stage of your career, most likely off the court (raises glass).

As for the Jameer rumors, I'll just second what's already been said in that thread — sure, if he's cheap enough, 'cuz he's an obvious upgrade from Bynum.

I wouldn't read too much into the timing. Isn't this the last day they could decline?

This was coming. I expect Siva to be the next casualty at PG. I don't think we are going to target Nelson unless he comes super cheap.

Sad due to nostalgia. Hoping we find a role for him in the FO.

Wonder when we will retire his number? Also, Big Ben's!

Excellent. His skills and athleticism have diminished greatly. A once well-respected player has come to an age where he no longer helps a team. Good luck to him in his future endeavors.

Agreed, we're already paying a good chunk o' change to Jennings and Bynum, we're not gonna shell out another $4m (the minimum of Nelson's current open-market worth) to get a 3rd PG. Until we move one or both, we can't add more salary to the PG position.

Wish we where a good team right now where we could afford to just keep him but unfortunately this had to be done.

Livingston; high character, defensive, versatile, intelligent.

Only problem is he cant shoot to save his **** life so he doesn't help our biggest issue xD.

He had a great year for Brooklyn and a higher IQ point guard that can see over most other guards.. I wouldn't mind if he came off the bench for us..

As long as we're talking about other free agent point guards.. I saw on rotoworld that the pistons seem to be pushing the hardest for Isaiah Thomas. Not a vet but and I'm not the biggest fan of the guy but having him on the team is an upgrade.

Apparently Chauncey has no designs on retirement quite yet.

I hope he doesn't hate us now honestly. We traded him and now we've declined his 2nd year. Then again, all he did last year was sit on the bench from injuries. One of favorite Pistons ever but it's time to retire man.

If he goes to the Heat...

He looked great before last season started too. Then he got injured quickly. 19 games played. He seems done on the field at least, time to move on Chauncey. He could get a head coach job asap and well paid, if Kerr, Fisher and Kidd can get a HC job, Chauncey can too.
