Offseason not going well

LeBron is now in our division.

Kevin Love might join him.

Chicago may yet get Carmelo.

PJ Tucker just signed for $16.5 when he would have been a better fit here than Meeks (since he's actually a SF, Meeks is too small to move up to guard bigger wings).

We didn't pick up any of the UDFAs I liked.

I'm a tad bit disappointed in how this is all going right now, I'll have to console myself with KCP highlights.

Lebron to Cavs guarantees another 5-6 years of the Pistons never getting to the Finals

Yeah, in a way, I really don't see us being competitive enough to face Chi-Town and the Cavs.

It's almost like the group of death but 2x.

Unless Monroe takes the next step and Dre turns into a mega-center star, then we're going to be just decent I think.

I'm really hoping the cavs make the mistake of trading for love. I don't want Lebron at the 4. It would be bad for us.

Stan better turn Drummond into the next Howard. Don't forget Stan beat Lebron last time with Dwight and shooters to get to the finals.

If I were the Cavs I'd be trying to trade for Hibbert to man the middle and keep Irving / Wiggins / Lebron

They are the Cavs, they'll trade for Love, Irving is already paid and they'll pay Thompson soon too, capping themselves out as a team who can't guard anyone (but will admitted be tough to guard itself).

I was on this rant yesterday....

So far, our offseason is basically replacing Stuckey for Meeks.

But I'm hoping SVG can pull off something here within the next week or so now that LeBron has decided. Dominoes should start to fall now....finally.

Well,
Not scared from the Cavs,.......just from Lebron.

To win a championship, you are going to have to beat Lebron. It really doesn't matter what city he's in. It would hurt if they manage to get Love too.

Melo in Chicago? eh. It's got potential, but it's also got a downside for them. Their 100% effort is what makes them a good team now. Can they maintain that with Melo?

PJ Tucker? Not a difference maker. It's kinda pointless to worry much about filling holes on the current team. If the goal is a championship, the roster is going to look a lot different anyway.

Smh oh noes. Like we faired so well against the Heat . So dramatic right now.

I loved the essay and was very impressed by Lebron, I hope he wins a ring very soon in Cleveland, like the next 3 years. I don't care that they're a division rival, I hate him before, and now I'm basically rooting for him.

So far this off season...we have lost our pick, gone after vet minimum type players like Martin/Gray, and Smith/Jennings are still on our roster. Yeah, definitely not going well..

We started the offseason without a pick, 2 1/2 players other teams would want and a new GM that said we're gonna hit singles this offseason...LeBron changes nothing, we don't have the players to compete for anything but the bottom seeds of the playoffs before we're baptized by the Bulls, Pacers, Heat(now replaced by the Cavs). The same great players and teams will wait to easily dispatch us in the playoffs. We're officially in the Bucks, Kings, Pelicans and Hornets range. If anything, when Lebron truly starts to age, it may coincide perfectly with a major upswing from us.

Years of player development, draft/trades and some luck will bring us back. Not one offseason where we're at our lowest.

We need to seiosly upgrade our team to be competitive and make playoffs in the freakin EASTERN conference. I swear no more bs, Im tired of winning 30 games a season or less. I trust SVG but he gotta show me somthing real soon.

If we are able to land a dominant wing scorer and Drummond continues his trajectory then I really like how we match up with the Cavs in 3 years. And we weren't getting through Miami in the next couple of years anyway.

My biggest concern with Lebron choosing the Cavs over the Heat is the influence he'll have on Kyrie & company's improvement. I was really hoping Kyrie topped out as a guard who gave you 20-5 while giving up 30-10.

We could have this thread every year, when was the last time we had an offseason "go well"?

Either way, we should save this one for September. This thing has just started.

Haven't thought about it that way. Besides getting lucky in the draft with Dre and Moose, can ANYONE name the last offseason where everyone was in agreement it was a success?? It's been so long...signing McDyess after the 'ship?

SVG made this offseason a success by himself.

We still have the best front line in the league, which was mismanaged last year to the point of ridicule. Now it will actually be used correctly, surrounded by 40% 3 point shooters.

Cleveland ain't nothing without Wiggins. I'm sorry but if Lebron is your only defender and "no D" Irving and "no D" Love are the other 2 of your big 3, you're not going anywhere. There's only 1 ball. Theyv'e got a lot of work to do especially when Varejaou gets his annual season ending injury.

If anything this clears the way for the Pistons. Monroe & Drummond & Smith can feast on the whole conference, especially now that they are being used correctly by Van Gundy. They already match up well with Indiana.

If Cartier Martin defends ANY better than Singler and Smith... the 3 position won't be an open hole.

Now if the Bulls get Carmelo, that's a real problem.
