There are no threats to take Monroe unless we aren't willing to match a max contract.

I'll just list the teams with max cap space and evaluate each one to the best of my ability:

Miami: Uncertain what kind of space they'll have when the dust settles, but knowing Riley he's making sure he's still got enough to make a run at a big fish.

STATUS: Threat to offer max. No viable sign and trade options.

Atlanta: Not sure how real this threat is, there's plenty of reasons for them not to be particularly interested, but one never knows.

STATUS: Unlikely to pursue Monroe.

Philadelphia: Lol. Just....lol.

STATUS: Not a concern.

Phoenix: Could use a big guy, still have money to spend. Given glut of guards a sign and trade is possible, but if we're managing expectations properly I don't think what we'd really want (Bledsoe or Dragic) is realistic.

STATUS: Could sign a max deal. Sign and trade a possibility, but tough to say how strong.

Dallas: Has space, but will likely look into other options after striking out with Chandler Parsons.

STATUS: Minimal concern.

Bulls: Loaded front court, but they seemed interested in Gasol. Possible, but not likely if they strike out on Melo.

STATUS: Probably not, but not unthinkable.

Charlotte: Has the space but also has a pretty similar player in Al Jefferson and a lot of money committed to him. I'd be surprised if they made a move, but with Jordan you just never know.

STATUS: Probably not, but not unthinkable.

Right now Miami, Phoenix most likely.

Which teams have money - Dallas has max money but have Chandler and Dirk and the four and five respectively and will probably bid on Bledsoe or go after Stephenson.

Miami has Bosh and McBob signed now, and needs a SF with any monies they have left.

Phoenix still has max money to spend.

Lakers still a possibility with Young re-signing and Lin trade?

I'm sure I'm missing a lot of teams.

Edit - Charlotte has to have $15M to offer as it was offered to Hayward, and when the Jazz match, they'd have it again.

Lakers are definitely out of money I believe. Kobe alone takes up 23 million dollars. Add to that 9 mill for Hill, about 4 mill for Young (being conservative there), and 8 mill for Lin, plus the 9.7 mill still owed to Steve Nash, and I believe they top 50 mill in salaries, leaving them well under the max in terms of cap space.

They also have a cap hold on their first rounder which is considerable given he was the 7th pick. That puts them even further away from any chance.

Charlotte, yeah, I'll add them to my list right quick.

MArket has really dried up for GM. I really think he might be coming back at a cheaper salary than expected.

Charlotte has 4 centers and no PF's. Unless they'd want to play Monroe or Al at the 4, it wouldn't make any sense.

I dont think CHA need Moose. They have Jefferson and Vonleh

I agree with this.

I put everyone who has cap space on the list. The only ones I think are really good chances are Miami and Phoenix. There are a couple of other longshots on the list, too.

Phoenix is the only team on the list even worth discussing as a hypothetical unless the Hawks decide they'd like to move Paul Milsap, who's age may preclude him as a fit anyway.

Apparently nobody wants him lol. Im actually hoping no team ends up having the cash anymore and we either get him real cheap or get a good sign and trade.

Bledsoe or nothing.

Ennis has some potential and is on a fresh rookie contract and Green can easily start at SF.

I dont see it happening, Bledsoe has alot more value then Monroe.

I did a research and I think that we will get Moose for lower contract then we tought.

Teams that could go aftrr him are:
ATL - but I dont think they need him, they have bigs
NY - if Melo dont resign, they will have money but I dont think they need him so much, they have Amar, Dalembert as a bigs
ORL - they have money but I think they dont need him, they have bigs
MIN - I think no but I dont know how will Love trades end up, but I dont think they will so for Monroe
UTA - they have money, but I dont think that they have intrest in him
DAL - I think no because if they dont get Parsons they will go after Deng or Ariza so they wont have money

and I think that only threats are:
HOU - they miss on Bosh so they could try to go for him
PHX - they have money and I think that they maybe need bigs.

It looks like Miami might be out of the running if the reports of them targeting Ariza/Deng are true.

I DO think that they will still have max cap space.

Houston is not a threat, at least not per my understanding. To actually have max cap space they'd need to not match the Parsons offer sheet.

Also, there are a lot of teams going after Deng and Ariza. If, for instance, Miami loses out on them, they could still go after him.

I dont think that Miami will have money when they resign Bosh and Wade (about 40m together) and with Granger McRonerts (about 8m) and they still need tonresign guys like Haslem, I think they wont have money.

I think that Suns are our only threat ifbthey want Monroe.

Man Monroe has too feel like **** right now. I wasnt expecting this but maybe teams are really too scared too make a offer because they really do believe stan will hold them up for 3 days and then match. Which is probably the same reason no one has thrown big cash at Bledsoe.

^Or he should be pissed at the Pistons for both playing him out of position (ie not at center) and then bringing in Smith last season to make the front court the drizzling **** during Monroe's contract year.

Hopefully he sees it as he didn't work hard enough personally, and this puts a chip on his shoulder to prove everybody wrong.
