He's contract became guaranteed as of yesterday. Not sure if he'll ever be a starter, but seems to be capable of being our backup PG, even as early as this year. Need to move Bynum for Siva to grow.

Bynum/2nd to Philly should have happens weeks ago. Could have pursued Deng with the cap savings. Glad for Siva and hope he gets the backup minutes this year

Glad to see he made the cut. Siva will never be a star, or even a full time starter, but he should be a quality rotation player.

Deng wouldn't have signed here.

Really wish this kid could hit a 3. Really like him, and hope he sticks around for a while, but if he had a 3pt shot, that would expand his game and his usefulness a lot.

Glad he's sticking around, he's a fighter and a winner. He probably won't become a starter in the league, but if someone was going to, it may be him. He showed flashes in his summer league games :)

FWIW, Piston Powered is saying the team has until the 20th. Shamsports says the 12th.

Super pumped for him.

Back when I lived in the mitten I saw a bunch of the pistons out and about. Smith and Drummond didn't acknowledge me when I said something, but Siva was a genuinely good dude, even had a short convo with me about Louisville beating UM.

Mitchell was cool as well, maybe the rookies were just more grounded haha

The writing is on the wall for Siva, we have until the 20th to waive and its a near certainty at this point

Siva has a team option that needs to be picked up or declined by July 20,

Siva seems like a great guy and competitor, but.... he can't shoot. On this team right now, that's the kiss of death. I just can't see them picking up his option. He might well become a rotation player somewhere else, but it looks like SVG's plan is to stock our perimeter with shooters.

Yeah, there are conflicting reports about when his contract becomes fully guaranteed.

With the Augustin deal, I'm assuming the July 20th date is the correct one.

If siva gets cut I hope a team picks him up. Hes a good player and a better guy. Drummond loves him and he seems like a great player to have in the locker room. I want him to stay and maybe he can become something. If not, no big deal as he expires after the season anyways. I'd rather trade bynum and datome for a future 2nd but thats only a pipe dream at the moment.
