2014-15 Schedule

Schedules get released today. Expect us to have a Christmas day game? Not a chance. Any games you looking forward to? Me? Every game with the Cavs. And @Golden State (so I can actually see it in person). I guess the schedule would be more important if we had a serious rivalry going, but you got to be good to have a rivalry.

Christmas Day has been leaked -
Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 16m

Five Christmas Day games: Washington at New York; OKC at San Antonio. Cleveland at Miami; L.A. Lakers at Chicago; G-State at L.A. Clippers.

FWIW, the players don't seem to want to play on Christmas Day. I don't blame them either.

We do play Atlanta on MLK Day.

normally you would hope for an easy schedule to finish the year (and help that home stretch playoffs push) but with the new coach, new pieces, etc. it may be beneficial to have an easier schedule to start the year.

or have a tough schedule to start the year and lose games that you were likely to lose anyways and then beat teams you're supposed to when you get rolling.

eh, who knows.

rather have a tough schedule to close the year because even if we make the playoffs we're gonna lose in round 1 also you dont want cheap wins at the end of the season if you're trying to tank for a better draft spot

hope it gets easy near mid season break so the players can have a long rest.

Right because they don't have to play as hard against bad teams :noway:

I agree. It seems like each of the last several years, that the Pistons go on a run the last couple weeks of the season against other lottery teams and end up hurting our draft position. I'd rather see us bomb the last few weeks if we're in the running for a decent pick. And if we're competing for a playoff spot, maybe the last couple weeks will have a "playoff" feel and be a benefit for the younger guys.

So you think playing the 76ers takes just as much effort as playing the Cavs? Lets be real here.....

I get what he was saying. And he's right. A team should never go into a game expecting to not have to play as hard. I absolutely hate when a team I root for plays down to the level of lesser teams. I'd rather beat the teams we're supposed to beat and lose to the one's we're supposed to lose to, than get beat by a couple 76er-esque teams but then somehow beat the Spurs and the Clippers or something like that.

But at the same time, there's obvious differences in playing a top 4 team and a bottom 4 team.

No, I'm saying they can give bench players more minutes in those games...

We only have 3 nationally televised games, 2 on ESPN, 1 on NBATV. Not sure that this team is worth league pass yet.

We'll probably get bumped from ESPN again unless this team really turns it around.

We could easily be 2-4. Denver should finally be healthy, and they got deeper with Afflalo, Harris and Nurkic.

Actually the bench will probably play more minutes against the better teams because we will be getting blown out.
