No to moving a healthy big for Bledsoe. And Monroe never said he doesn't want to be here, his agent is just trying to get his client paid the most money as possible.

But regardless of Falk's posturing to get $$$ for Monroe, does Monroe even fit with Drummond? If not, we need to move him and move on.

Only if Jennings is being shipped out somewhere in the deal. No way do I want Bledsoe/Jennings/Augustin/Bynum/Dinwiddie all on the team, 1/3rd of our roster being point guards. And in trading Monroe for a PG, we'd have Jerebko as our primary PF back-up and Gray as our primary Ce back-up.

Keep Monroe for the year with the QO and then use next off-season to fix the mess of a roster further.

I'm not entirely against the idea of pursuing Bledsoe. But, he's not worth the money his agent is demanding.

Primarily due to his inconsistent health. He's a fine player when he's healthy, which is seldom.

Why are you so concerned about this upcoming season, it's not like we are competing for anything yet.

I agree with..everybody. In theory I'd like Bleodso, but not at the price he's asking and it leaves us with a glut of pg's and thin up front. The deal would have to be larger, probably involve a 3rd team and then would likely crumble under the nuanced complexity required to satisfy everybody's needs.

One way or another the Monroe saga will ultimately work itself out. Probably next Summer when he walks. I'm more distraught over the 2 yrs remaining on Jennings contract.

Couple of things with respect to my feelings on this:

1) I don't particularly care about the number of point guards we have on this team. Move guys if necessary. Let Jennings ride the pine for 2 years. We've taken worse cap hits than that before. We need better players on the perimeter and we need them badly. The reality is that simple and that stark. Anyone who fits well with Drummond warrants consideration. He's the only currently non-negotiable part of our core at the moment.

2) A maximum price tag is what it would take to get him in a Pistons uniform. I'm apprehensive about that to say the least.

3) Injury is a concern but I'd be prepared to roll the dice if it weren't for the maximum price tag.

4) Player for player I'd move Monroe for him in a heartbeat, and I'd go so far as to make that regardless of the likelihood that he's walking. Number 2 is the only concern.

5) Its not happening. There doesn't appear to be much interest in Monroe on the Suns' part, and that's really the only viable option at this stage is a sign and trade.

Bledsoe's defence is top 5 for PG's in the NBA (IMO)

My thought is that one of the reasons Monroe didn’t accept the offer from Detroit is that he doesn’t want to share the PF spot with Josh. I could be wrong but you have to look at all the possible reasons why he didn’t sign. I know there are stories where he denied wanting Josh off the team but be real, neither Monroe, Josh or anyone speaking for the Pistons will ever admit any negative reports.

As for Bledsoe, though I have serious concerns about his health I wouldn't mind the trade but not for the max and certainly not while we have Bynum, Jennings, Augustin and Dinwiddie. Trading Monroe for Bledsoe would mean at least 2 of the current guards will probably have to be moved, preferably Bynum and Jennings, and I can’t see phoenix having any interest in any of them.

What are you giving up for him?

KCP is in for sure. Im guessing we are trying to send them Smith but I dont see how that is incentive for the Suns.

I cant think of anything that would upset Monroe more than doing a S&T and giving Bledsoe 17mil a yr. Might as well renouce the QO and use the cap space to get Bledsoe.

So we renounce Monroe send KCP+JJ then roll with
Jennings, Bledsoe, Singler, Smith, Drummond

Dont see how that makes us much better and we still have holes at the wings. Whats worse is that we no longer have cap space in 15,16 or 17.

What in the world are you talking about? The discussion has been Monroe for Bledsoe straight up. If we renounced Monroe we would only have $10M in cap space so we wouldn't be able to sign Bledsoe outright and even if we had enough cap space to do so Phoenix would likely match any offer.

We would be signing Bledsoe to replace Jennings by the way, not to start at the 2.

Passing is one of Jennings best attributes. You don't average 7.6 assists by luck. He did that without 3 point shooters playing with him as well.

Jennings doesn't turn the ball over as much because he doesn't ever take the ball to the hole, Bledsoe does that as well as anybody so his turnovers are going to be higher for sure. Add that to the fact that last year was his first time seeing major minutes and that's bound to improve IMO.
