The Detroit Pistons have a number of potential positional battles this year. The main question I want to focus on is: Who do you think should be starting for the Detroit Pistons by midseason?

I'd want Moose to start. I like watching his offense, and I really think that he could excel alongside Drummond with SVG coaching. I also think that he can improve on defense enough to be acceptable to the people on this board. I also really don't think that even Stan can get Smith to stop shooting jumpers, and I really can't bear to watch another season of Smoove chucking.

Depends. If Moose is only here because he signed QO than Josh Smith should be starting. If Monroe signed on here long term, than Moose should be starting.

We need a good Defensive Line up to start games, so I would go Smith.

I just can't be objective after that picture of Jerebko.

Moose if he signs an extension, Josh if Moose signs the QO.

Monroe QO or long term contract. He brings something to the table that makes us unique. Smith doesn't.

Regardless of Mooses contract, he should be starting.
The twin towers with the newly acquired shooters around them should be fun to watch.

Glad to see my lone vote for the lost Jonas Brother remains isolated.

Had to go with Smith. He can only play one position well, that being PF. Monroe can play both the four and five spots so he can come off the bench and rest either Drummond or Smith. If Smith were to come off the bench, he can only sub for who ever is at PF.

Uhhhh, I'm not going to argue whether Smith or Monroe should be starting but I'll at least do you the favor of correcting your awful logic.

Drummond comes out, Smith goes in Monroe moves to center. It's like magic. Poof problem solved.

He's a good all around player and I obviously think he's better than most around here believe but I don't quite think I would put him 5th lol

I go with Monroe. I'm holding out hope that there is something special here with the two young bigs that can be built over the long haul. I like Monroe's post game and his ability to take bigs off the dribble. One concern is his defense, but in a SVG system he's going to be challenged to give focused effort. The other concern is his reluctance to take that 15 footer, if he's able to stick that shot consistently it will mean he takes a huge leap in his development.

I love this two guys, but they wasn't play well last season...

Andre Drummond is a beast and the franchise player. Monroe is good, but DOES NOT complement the franchise properly. You guys need a PF with range on his jumpshot. So SVG can play the way he likes.

You guys need to go after Millsap. He's the perfect partner for Drummond. Veteran, scorer, jump shooter, savvy, consistent.

If your two best player don't mesh, it doesn't matter how good they are.

Just because SVG surrounded Howard with shooters, it's not a guarantee that he's planning to do the same thing with Drummond. We had absolutely no 3pt shooting last season, so the signings made since his arrival shouldn't be looked at as anything more than just improving the team's ability to hit an open shot. People are quick to forget that when SVG was in Miami, the team was built differently. He's not a one trick pony. And if he was, neither Monroe or Smith would fit that mold, yet he appears to be comfortable with both remaining on the roster.
