Here is a definitional argument I wrote for my English course at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In it, I explain why we should not have too high expectations for the Pistons right now because there are still players on the roster who do not fit well with what Van Gundy is trying to accomplish -- a successful system that allows Drummond to flourish.
Check it out if you have 5-10 minutes. I would love to hear your opinions on the subject.

Good read my dude. I liked your paper, I just don't think folks should compare Drummond and Howard. Drummond is more of a bigger version of Ben Wallace while Howard is a low-end Shaq. Those two are very different players, the only similarity is on defensive side of the ball.

Thanks brother, I appreciate it. I'm going to have to respectfully disagree, though, I think it's a very fair comparison, and I do not think Shaq and Howard are as similar as Drummond and Howard. I think that Drummond and Howard are very much alike defensively, as you agreed. Offensively, Howard and Drummond struggle to get points on their own in the post, something Shaq had no problem with. Van Gundy could scheme his offense around Shaq's post game, but he can not rely on that as much with Howard and Drummond. They also are much more athletic than Shaq and can run in transition better than Shaq could both offensively and defensively. That athleticism allows them to run the pick and well more effectively, something the 4/1 offense promotes.

Comparing Drummond to Wallace right now is an insult to Wallace. Ben brought it every night, changed the game defensively every night....Drummond has yet to show that consistency or the level of high BBall IQ to effect games like Ben did.
