Well, it looks like people are genuinely more interested in talking about the pistons now that we're on a hot new win streak so let's keep discussion going.

Utah Jazz
8th ranked offense
29th ranked defense
play at the 4th slowest pace

Detroit Pistons
22nd ranked offense
18th ranked defense
play at the 2nd slowest pace

STARTERS
Brandon Jennings
KCP
Josh Smith
Greg Monroe
Andre Drummond

Trey Burke
Alec Burks
Gordon Hayward
Derrick Favors
Enes Kanter

this will be a good challenge for our bigs, as Utah is one of the best rebounding teams both on the offensive and defensive glass.

let's hope Jennings keeps running the offense well, KCP stays hot and locking guys down on D and that Drummond starts to play a little better. butler has played great the last two games and he (along with smith) will have a tough task guarding Hayward who looks to be greatly improved this year.

go pistons!

Josh Smith vs Gordon Hayward should be interesting- hopefully Smith can slow him down without hurting us by taking 15-20 shots.

Our bigs are much better rebounders than theirs so I expect to win the glass- I think this is a win.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable Burke is better than KCP thing again for its one last hurrah.

Should be hilarious.

Smith probably can't guard Hayward but he can punish him in the paint on the other end. The real matchup to me is Favors/Monroe, could get ugly on both ends for Moose tonight.

I still would like Burke on our team, although I'm still holding out hope for Jennings.

I don't understand the love/hate for Burke around here. Why do we find it necessary to be on one extreme or the other?

Burke's a pretty solid PG for being in his 2nd season. Likewise, KCP is showing signs he could be very good. I would be thrilled to have either on my team.

Burke wasn't a fit here though with Jennings already on the roster. KCP was a good fit because we had no SG worth anything.

I believe Monroe was matched up with Marvin Williams that game and he got lit up on defense, may have been a different game but that's what I remember.

That was the game before I was thinking of. The game you're talking about Drummond dominated basically while Monroe and Kanter went back and forth, took Moose 15 shots to get those 18 points BTW. Not sure how they will match them up tomorrow but at least neither is a shooter.

Marvin was a bench SF last season- I remember Jerebko and Smith guarding him. Monroe was matched up with Kanter/Favors.

Monroe shot 60% not sure how you are criticizing him for that efficiency. He looked great, I think he should be able to hold his on tommorow but we shall see

If he went to any other school besides UM or MSU, it would be a non-issue. Just like a lot of people were dogging on Hardaway. I figured he would be a reasonable pro, I couldn't understand the hate either. But I'm a Wolverine, so I was looking at him through Maize and Blue glasses :-)

And no one should be dogging on Burke right away. He had a solid rookie year at the toughest position to play in the NBA. He may not be a superstar, but he will be around a long time.

This is going to be a tricky game for us.

If Jennings and KCP continue playing the way they have been the last couple of games we should win the backcourt battle. And if moose bounces back from last nights slow start and if Dre can stop fouling people, we should be ok up front. The one match up that looks scary to me is Smith V Hayward. Smith isn't great against perimeter guys like Hayward, but hopefully he stays engaged on D and slows him down.

Should be a close one.

I'm hoping for a Detroit double with the Lions V Miami @1pm too. I'm not leaving my house tomorrow. :)

Should be yet another close game and should be fun to watch. Our offense has looked much better the last few games so hopefully we can score a bunch on their not so good defense.

PPS and TS% are the statistics I use for scoring efficiency.

Anyway, pretty sure Marvin Williams played mostly PF last year and started there next to Favors for quite a while when they decided to bring Kanter off the bench.

Detroit really needs to play hard and come away with a win. It's going to be difficult trying to get to .500 hitting the road 2-4.
