Gameday: LAC @ DET, 11/26, 7:30 PM

Post#1 » by Ghost » Wed Nov 26, 2014 1:05 pm

Alright, I wanted in on the Gameday action. Since we don't have a game tomorrow on Thanksgiving, I just wanted to wish everyone a good one. Thanks for making this such a great team board, even if some of you don't know anything ;) .

Image

Los Angeles, the Clip-show and their 8-5 record head into Detroit to face our struggling now 3-11 Pistons squad on the backend of a back-to-back. After great performances from our bigs in Milwaukee, including a near triple double from Josh Smith (11/10/8), a typical Monroe night of 15/8, and the lob returning to Andre Drummond (23/10) we will now face a very problematic frontcourt. DeAndre Jordan matches up extremely well vs. Drummond, Blake Griffin is a star who will cause us issues, and if that wasn't enough, they were able to add Spencer Hawes in the offseason who can shoot the 3. So I expect him to get a couple clear looks out on the perimeter if he wants them.

The Good:
We have a four game home-stand, and have potential to win two of them!

The Bad: This isn't one.

The Unknown:
Brandon Jennings hyper-extended thumb. Will he play? Can he shoot?

Image
We can't have a Clipper thread without this, right?

Team Leaders:
Blake Griffin-22.2 PPG
DeAndre Jordan-11.5 RPG
Chris Paul-9.9 APG

Brandon Jennings-16 PPG
Andre Drummond-11.5 RPG
Brandon Jennings-5.8 APG

Starters:
Paul/Redick/Barnes or Bullock/Griffin/Jordan
Jennings or Augustin/Caldwell-Pope/Smith/Monroe/Drummond

Detroit's abysmal offense will struggle to find the output required in order to hang with the Clippers.

I find it funny how our defense actually has been pretty decent while our offense has been outright terrible. We need to bench one of our big 3 to have better spacing and optimize efficiency.

Anyways, chalk this one as a loss since Blake will probably go off.

Everytime I watch that video, the only thing I see is Monroe and his god awful defense and then his ignorant freaked out stare down at his teammate. And then how he doesn't even go to help him out. **** Monroe. I hope he comes off the bench tonight cause there's no way he can stay with Blake. And I hope to god we deal him this season before he screws us over and leaves for nothing. Just find out what teams he'd agree to go to(GSW/OKC) and get what you can for him

At this point I want nothing but losses. All I want is too see big games from Drummond from here on out lol. We need a top pick and then we can throw a big offer at Dragic, Butler or Harris in the offseason if need be. Maybe even throw a big Deal at Draymond as a stretch 4 as well. Things will get better next season but we really need to just bottom out this year badly.

While the clips should destroy us, this is a bit of trap game for them. Road game before the holiday against a lotto team? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bring it tonight.

This, exactly this.

I'm worried about some of Stan's recent comments, Gores appears to be as clueless as many of us feared. Gores is in this for the wrong reason, the guy only cares about the bottom line and likely to pump up the franchise value so he can cash out while NBA franchises are still hot. Owning a team is like owning a boat, the reason to do it isn't to care about how much money goes into the maintenance, it's to enjoy your toy. I think Gores views the Pistons like flipping a house, buy in when the value is low, put some window dressing on things and cash out when the time is right.

it's really gonna hurt that Jennings is out, we need his defense (never thought I'd say that!) against chris paul.

if we lose tonight; I can honestly say I'd never thought we would start this season 3-12

PS it's way too early to hope for the lottery, in this conference we can still make the playoffs if we go on a hot streak.

Augustin has not the wingspan, lateral quickness, weight or fundamentals to guard Paul.

He'll probably go for 30/12

I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Butler removing rearview mirror in his car as a symbol to never look back

Dinwiddie will lock down Chris Paul! Jennings becomes the basketball equivalent to Wally Pipp.

Andre's Drummond is playing his second game of the season boys. Sit back and git some popcorn.
