GD12/12 9:30-Heartless@Morris-FranchiseRecordTieLoss? Meeks?

Post#1 » by Ghost » Fri Dec 12, 2014 3:03 pm

Uh oh. The tank could be getting some more firepower.

Via Keith Langlois: Jodie Meeks could play as soon as Friday, SVG says. Needs to see him practice next 2 days.

I really hope Meeks doesn't end up being this year's Stuckey... playing hero, killing the awful record we have worked so hard to build .

Edit: fixed title. KCP's heartless rematch vs Morris. I hope good KCP shows up. Plus, added in the Meeks part :?. Could be interesting.

Watch we win this game and suns fans go crazy

I predict smith scores 18pts and Drummond 20pts and 8rebs KCP has a terrible night and goes 2-11 Monroe does Monroe.

We then go on another 5+ game losing streak. :D

I'm afraid this one is going to get ugly. We have a hard time with guard penetration and jump shooting bigmen. That's basically what phoenix does. Our only hope is just destroying them in the paint.

I was with everything you said until you doubted Caldwell-Pope.

And to keep Meeks on the bench. I'm curious to see what Meeks can bring to the table but my fear is that he takes way too many of KCP's minutes. Developing Pope should be one of our top priorities the rest of this season imo.

I think Meeks and KCP should see some minutes together. It's an undersized duo, but KCP can guard bigger 3's.
It would cause some mismatches in our favor and the spacing would be there for monroe/drummond inside.

I can't imagine Meeks goes straight into starting after his injury. he needs to prove himself.

Yeah I totally agree with this. If Singler wasn't on a bit of a hot streak I think it would be even more likely. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a short term starting lineup with Meeks at the two and KCP at the 3.

Start those two with monroe and Drummond. that would make me happy.
Bring Singler and Smith off the bench.

I would love to see Martin and Mitchell in suits behind the bench. I'd like to see Datome get some playing time.

it'll be interesting to see if the suns start out with PJ tucker against Monroe, I know they cycled through all of their bigs trying to find someone who could guard Monroe until they finally tried tucker and he shut him down.

PS meeks is expected to be eased back into the lineup so KCP should have enough chances to show his heart to markieff morris

Looking forward to watching this game.

I feel like a Pistons win is coming tonight (for those who pay attention- I don't say that often).

I think the vitriol KCP and the gang have for the Suns after all the trash talk will light a fire under them.

Meeks probably won't move the needle much. He's going to be rusty and will have to re-initiate himself with the speed of the game.

Then again, Bledsoe and/or Dragic could go off and Detroit may fold by the 3rd.

I'm always surprised when teams don't immediately double Monroe when he gets the ball in the post. He's not really passing out of the doubles this season, just trying to bully his way to the rim.

The most important thing that needs to happen after the tip is:

Someone hammers Morris in the paint, knocks him on his butt and then stands over him and while pointing at his heart says "KCPs all heart Mother....."

Someone needs to stand up for KCP...I hope Smith commits the flagrant
