We are only 6games out of the playoffs.
The East sucks.
There's no guarantees with tanking for a draft pick.
With Meeks coming back and a trade likely happening, I still have faith we can sneak in. We will still have a decent draft pick in the teens. Cap space to sign someone. Possibly sign and trade Moose for something. I'm remaining positive and predicting, as crazy as it sounds, a playoff berth.
Also I'd be happy as **** if we could trade Jennings and our expirings for Devon Williams. We need a damn leader and somebody that can run our offense and get Drummond going and make Smith more restrained.
I'd also be happy if we dealt Moose and Caron to OKC. Durant loves Caron and Moose gives them their low post guy they've been missing. In return we get Perkins PJ3 and their 1st rounder.
Let the bashing begin lol. P.S.luv u guys. I just really am sick of the losing and want to go to a damn playoff game at the Palace again Go Pistons!!!!

Unless we make some hugely successful trade then I want the highest pick possible. I don't see SVG making a trade that will turn this team around. He may be able to dump a guy like Smith, for example, which will help but that alone will not vault us back into playoff contention. It's sad that our playoff hopes are over in early December. You do realize if this was posted on the Brooklyn board, people may line up to give you blowjobs? :? Williams 20M+ per year for this and the next 2 years... and you want to have that on our books instead of Jennings 8M/8M, Jerebko 4.5M, Butler 4.5M (team op 2nd right?), and Joel Anthony 3.8M.

Talk about a cap nightmare between Smith/Williams, oh my god.

If you really want to go to a playoff game at the Palace, embrace the potential from us sucking now. In a couple years we could be back to constant playoff team.

I don't think you're insane. I'm not for tanking. I hate losing. And there's no guarantee whoever we pick in the draft will pan out - especially with these one and done guys. I mean, Greg Oden, OJ Mayo, Michael Beasley, Hasheem Thabeet, Evan Turner, Derrick Williams, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Anthony Bennett, and Otto Porter were all top 3 picks.

None of them are difference makers. I'd be pissed off if we dropped game after game and wound up with the equivalent of Evan Turner or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Now some drafts, you have the no-brainers: Duncan, Lebron, Anthony Davis but for the most part, it's a crap shoot.

I'd rather try to make the playoffs every year try my luck at knocking off a top seed because teams like Toronto and Washington don't scare me.

We have a lack of talent and adding a Joe Johnson/Deron Williams 2 year rental to win us enough games to slide into the 8th seed won't benefit us in the long term. Would much rather have a chance at one of Okafor/Towns/Mudiay ect...

I would trade Jennings and Smith for Joe Johnson and their pick even if it's Atlanta's. Joe can play the three, he's been a solid player his whole career just overpaid. He is very clutch, a veteran leader, and two yrs of his service with a bunch of solid young kids could work well. A christmas time trade, we will be even worse off be then. We wont vault to the playoffs maybe a better pick. But we could keep selling off pieces, and overplay the young kids to make us get a higher pick. Joe would definitly increase are chances of making the playoffs next year, and the year after. So grabbing mulitiple prospects in the next year would be the way to go. So we could get the most out of him.

And people on here wanted Porter and Bennett the year they were going to be available. I guess I'm like, if we suck and get a good pick, cool. But I never want to root for the losses. How many top 5 picks has Charlotte had? Any of them turning that franchise around?

I just don't have much faith in the draft. It's too unpredictable.

I'm usually optimistic but we horrible. This team is not fun to watch at all. They make me hate basketball every night I watch them play. At least Philly is entertaining. Pistons are a boring ass team.

Assuming the 8th seed finishes with about a .400 winning percentage, we'd have to go 30-28 to even make the playoffs.

I think you need to roll out that old post in having any expectations for post season.
We will make the playoffs in 2013/14 and contend in 2014/15.
Unfortunately the Pistons will lose most games this year not because they are tanking but they are just bad. They are like the Bucks where injuries dictated the worst record last year. Unfortunately unlike the Bucks currently the Pistons don't have the skilled players injured that Milwaukee did.

Looking at a couple more years of losses until Smith is gone adding depth and players to right the ship .It can be done.

I think it's possible because this team knows how to compete but are horrible at finishing. But once you learn how to finish a game and make the right plays/decisions, something clicks. For example you can go on a 2-4 game winning streak. It's possible and it makes a difference in the East.
