Yes there are several threads out there about his value... this will be a quick poll to gauge the likelyhood that he re-signs.
The reason for this poll is the amount of time spent complaining about him not starting... you are welcome to state the reason for GM starting this year

No. But I want to qualify it with: if we trade Smith before the deadline and/or offer the 5 year max, then I think he will stay.

I'm also fine with him coming off the bench because we all know Smith can't... and in the end this results in Monroe's ability to be put in a lineup where he can do what he does best.

We want him, He doesn't want us

Take him, he's a tradeable asset since he's a young player. Losing him sets us back 2 years.

I don't see him returning. I'm sure he's sick of being stuck as a lottery team for the past 4 years or so. Signing Smith who plays the same position as him, trying to start them together and diminishing Monroe's role on offense certainly didn't help.

He's a really good player and I think he'd shine in a situation where he had shooters around him giving him more space to operate. Wish he would've developed a consistent mid range jumper, it would've really opened up his game. But I'm sure wherever he goes if he does leave he'll help out some team quite a bit with his low post scoring. With the way some people defend him on here you'd think his family posts here or something...but nonetheless as a Piston fan I'd be glad if he was still on the roster after next off season, I still believe the Drumroe pairing has a lot of potential.

I think its very unlikely he signs back here and I don't blame him if I were him I probably wouldn't either. The only way I see him signing back is if he doesn't get any good offers from other teams and the pistons offer him the most and that's hard to imagine.

He has certain flaws that are tough to overcome with Dre on the roster.

Monroe can't yet consistently nail the 15-18 footer and with Dre unable to do it as well teams can pack the paint (even easier considering our lack of shooters)

Monroe has a good post game, good passing skills and understands playing in a system on both ends...but he's not an Alpha and doesn't demand respect.

People say you gotta earn respect & that's true to a point. At some point you gotta demand it too!

IF Monroe put in as much work as Durant or Lebron or Kobe then he'd demand the ball, demand respect.

I don't think Monroe wants it bad enough to put the work in...so I'm content to watch him leave UNLES we can deal Smith

I hope Smith does get traded and Monroe gets every minute at PF... the first thing we will notice is the lack of help Drummond gets... and the reduction of interior scoring from the entire team (4 bodies in the paint).

My opinion is that neither Smith nor Monroe are the answer at the 4... and certainly don't support using a large % of cap for a misfit..
He'll work well as another teams Center but not a better option than Dre.
He's not re-signing here... why waste the keystrokes.

All of those are top quality young players that can give us 2 years IMO. I'm doubtful of others like Harris, Shump, etc.

I'd love to dump all our money on Draymond though, to have that stretch 4 for Dre.

I think he'll come back. We'll have to pay him as if he's a "starting-player" though. 5yr/50mil might get it done.

He is not resigning. We screwed it up royally via signing dummy & then not trading dummy at our first opportunity. Now Monroe has all the power to leave while we get nothing. Just gotta take this L & pray Drummond doesn't follow him.

This thread wasn't needed, there has been 150,000 others like this, it's a dead issue, the outcome is already determined.

None of those are realistic options, Detroit is not a place people wanted to come even when we were dominating. That's why retaining the talent you luck in to & not doing what we did with Josh/Monroe is vital to success.

Uhh. You were here this offseason. You know that offer wouldn't "get it done" unless get it done means have him never talk to us again while coming back in a different team's jersey.

Draymond is the most realistic, and I honestly believe it would be a disaster.

How are these not realistic options? Players don't only think about contending or playing in the playoffs they also care about getting paid too especially young players if you offer them generous contracts it will be hard to resist.

He's gone. Let him walk. What we need to be focusing on is going all out in signing Tobias Harris away from the magic in the offseason. He'd be a tremendous fit next to Drunmond on both ends.

The summer of 2015 is a brand new off-season, and I actually think Monroe's value has dropped since he's basically our 6th-man now. I'm not saying Monroe isn't a starting caliber player, I just think he's worth less now.
