12/28: Pistons @ Cavs - 4:30

Post#1 » by Ghost » Sun Dec 28, 2014 5:09 pm

The curse of Smith has been lifted! We are UNDEFEATED without him! Now we get to watch DrumRoe get big on ... well, TT/Love? Who else do the Cavs have that are C/PFs? Hayward and Marion?

This should be an entertaining one, hopefully we play with a lot of effort again.

Lions and Packers play around the same time so I will be switching back and forth.

Drummond and Monroe should dominate this game but LeFlop is gonna have a field day with KCP or Singler guarding him.

I predict a L 89-101 Cavs

Cavs could barely get by Orlando the other day

If we play hard we should be able to keep this close esp with Varejao out and Love/Lebron playing like crap

Just the image of Singler guarding LeBron just makes me giggle. Like a Kia playing chicken with an 18 Wheeler.

Yeah, he's playing today. My guess is that means Datome is our inactive player.

Apparently Irving is out for this one, so that helps the cause. I can't see the pistons winning, but stranger things have happened recently.

I'll be watching the lions game, but i'll try to keep an eye on the scores. If detroit beat the packers and the cavs in the one day i think my brain will explode with happiness. haha :D

Well put Sir! I couldn't help but laugh.

I expect their 3s to score easily and get our bigs in foul trouble as they get into the paint at will. I'd love to be surprised, but it's surprised I would be.

Will be watching this one with great interest. First and foremost obviously because if you guys start trending upwards, it can only help Boston's tank.

But also just because your whole team dynamic really interests me. I'm honestly not even sure tanking is the right move for you guys at this point. Monroe and Drummond is a heck of a good start to a core, and showing Monroe that this is a team-on-the-rise might be helpful for retaining him.

Well, either way, beating the Cavs can never be a bad thing. So, good luck guys.

I am completely torn between tanking and winning. I would love a top pick, however winning would (hopefully) help retain Monroe, make us more attractive to other free agents, and it would prove that Josh Smith was extremely cancerous. It's definitely tough.

I don't think there is anyone in the draft worth tanking for. I would love for Detroit to go .500 from here on out and finish with around 32 wins per game and the 6-9th pick in the draft- we could probably land 1 of Winslow/Johnson/Russell in that range.

Keeping Datome active in case Singler and Butler run into foul trouble against LeBron? I don't really understand this move otherwise.

I mean you cant give our youth the impression we want to lose cause thats not intriguing or motivating for anyone. If we can win and play as a unit than fine. I want that top pick but I also want to be appealing to Moose and any other big FA.
