ESPN: Was this LeBron's worst loss as a pro?

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Mon Dec 29, 2014 3:29 am

The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a 23-point home loss against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, a loss that can be described as puzzling, shocking and even unprecedented in many ways.

According to Elias Sports Bureau research, the 23-point loss by the Cavaliers is the worst loss by a LeBron James team in his career against a team with a winning percentage below .300 at least 20 games into the season. His previous worst loss was by 18 against a 7-17 Knicks team back in December 2007.

"Since letting Smith go on Dec. 22, the Pistons have the second-most efficient offense in the NBA. Only the Raptors (117.1 points per 100 possessions) are slightly ahead of the Pistons (117.0) over the past week.

With Smith, the Pistons ranked 28th in offensive efficiency with 97.6 points per 100 possessions."

Incredible how much better our offense has been but its only been 2 games. Drummond shut LeBron down though in the paint. He had to resort to jump shots and it wasnt enough. It reminded me of how Hibbert used to shut him down and he just looks lost on how to get around it.

Andre Drummond's defense completely altered the outcome of this game. The entire Cavs team just started avoiding the paint all-together, it was beautiful. Drummond made LeBron look like a little child in the paint.

not to mention opening up open shots for our shooter. As soon as Dre rolls to the rim, he has automatically 2 guys attached to him , sometimes 3

That's a lot of BS specific statistics to make their case.

Cavs were missing two starters, and couldn't knock down their shots from the outside. However much you want to credit that to the Pistons, go ahead.

Nice to see ESPN is at least consistent with their overreactions.

Lebron is fine, Cleveland will be fine. Stuff just takes time.

If this was LeBron's worst game, I'm glad we could be a part of it. :D
