He's going to be cut by the Wizards. We have an open roster spot. Why not take a chance?

Why are they cutting him?

Why? 24 yr old who has done nothing in the NBA. Didn't he have attitude issues in the past as well?

His contract is about to be guaranteed. There were also some attitude issues. However, SVG has shown he doesn't put up with ****.

Because he can shoot and has the tools to defend 3s?

He's shooting .200 for the Wizards? He also doesn't appear to rebound the position? He blocks no shots and has a negative PER. I'm all for the Pistons looking to audition for the open position. I guess I'll leave it to Stan to decide who might be the best prospects.

His NBA stats look like straight butt and his D-League stats don't look all that great either but I've never seen him play so I guest I wouldn't completely know.

Wasn't he the guy JR Smith punched in the junk earlier this year? That's all I know him for, if that was even him.

He led the D league in scoring and won the title. Send him to Grand Rapids with a possible call up.

Summer league MVP, if we add him we can totally win the title in July.

If we could get him on a 10-day contract, I'd be all for it.

Sign him up! If he is 1/5 of the player his father was he could be worthy of a spot on our bench!

Pistons won't use a 10-day contract at least for the next two weeks as we have no practice time given the current schedule of something like 10 games in 16 days and without practice time there would be no real way to give the kid an honest shot at any playing time.

So I see the season has started, huh? The season of every player that gets waived a thread is started in favor of bringing them in.

The only thing going for him is his name and roots. 10 day makes sense if his tape looks to have real potential. Otherwise, I'll just remember his father fondly. I was just a kid when his father was magic at UofM. Probably the first college basketball name I learned.

Damit i've been saying this since it was reported. lol

I am sure SVG will do proper vetting and if their are locker room or character issues, this is not the time to reintroduce them to the team. HOWEVER he'd automatically jump to the most upside SF on our team. My best guess is that the Wiz didn't have any minutes for him

This guy can actually shoot though. I'm not saying he'll be a star, but he can easily be a Gary Neal off the bench guy who can help the team out.

I have to agree w CGC, while yes DetroitSho has a point, GRJ has actual talent. All the other players waived were not SL MVP.

Rather we take a shot with Quincy Miller.

If he was "easily" that, he wouldn't be getting waived. He's got character issues and effort issues. He had a real shot to break out when Beal was injured, but he flopped.

And really, we have no need for him even if he gets it together. We've got KCP starting and Meeks already in need of more minutes and a rookie guard already buried.
