The Pistons Streak has transformed our board

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Thu Jan 8, 2015 4:07 am

I am on RealGM every single day, this is really my only source of piston basketball discussion and you guys are some what my RealGM family. Since this streak, our pistons have totally transformed this board from literally a cemetery to the "happening place". Having been here since 2010, its really hard to recall the last time this board was this lively and we had this much support from other fan bases. Our board is definitely benefiting from our team and in a way we are now apart of it. While our boys could fall as quickly as they climbed, i would just like to say its really nice having this our board back . Lets enjoy this.

Thank you guys and thank you SVG and his F*ING WALL

The board used to be crazy back in the day too, you can see it from the archives if you stretch back far enough haha.

I'm loving it too! As an O/S fan its hard to find people to genuinely talk NBA & more importantly to talk Pistons, and although I don't comment much or probably make a lot of sense when i do, i still visit this site on the daily.

Keep up the love!

Definitely the liveliest and most active the board has been in years, but still not even close to what we saw during '04-'06. I'd say a lot more good will from other fans though. Even with all the traffic we had a huge cloud lingering over us from the Malice @ the Palace and a lot of people generally disliked our style of grind-it-out bball. It could be ugly to watch, even for bball purists.

This team has a lot more intrigue with Drumroe and a more viewer friendly brand of ball going for them. And there is just something about waving a guy like Smith that I think a lot of fans really embrace. So often decisions are made for purely financial reasons or you see coaches/front offices undermined by ownership. To see SVG waiving it around like he really is Ron Jeremy is pretty friggin awesome.

We have become the underdog. We 've had such a f* up situation literally since the billups trade. To not only now have a competent coach ,competent GM but to also win by making moves that everyone and the mother questioned. Really pits our team against the odds, and too see SVG's vision producing and in the team manner they are. Its just adds fuel to our underdog fire.

Game threads went from 10-12 pages to 30+. This board is back to life. I havent been posting myself since joining this board a year and a half ago, but welcome back everyone i suppose.

It's amazing that the game threads have life again. In the past 5 years, the only time we get excited is for the lottery and the draft. This is waaaaayyyyyy better.

Even tho I haven't been here long the board was dead during that losing streak it's good to see it alive.

It's also nice to have a coach you know is going to last longer than 6 months as well. A plan, and stability. Exciting times ahead. I forgot when I even registered here, but it's been awhile now.

"The Pistons Streak has transformed our board" ... does that make us all... TRANSFORMERS???

Transformers were "Robots in Disguise;" were the Pistons "A Good Basketball Team in Disguise?"

Are our noble mods the Autobots? Is Cow Optimus Prime? Are our lovable contrarian cynics the Decepticons? Does that make Neptune, Josh Smith's lone remaining supporter, a Go-Bot?

(Why yes, I did grow up in the 80's! How did you guess?) :D
