Back to reality

Post#1 » by retrolenny » Thu Jan 8, 2015 1:03 pm

I have watched every single game over the course of the year and now that The Pistons have proved worthy by beating 2 of the best teams in basketball, I think our spirit will be deflated... Not because we're playing the Hawks but because our boys are going to go back to the Palace and play the Hawks in front of a half empty crowd. You'd think that after a 7 game win streak that Gores would instruct his front office to give the seats away in order to get the word out but more importantly, show our boys that they have fans and the fans are indeed behind them. It may take a 5 or 6 games of giving the tickets away but once it catches on that these Pistons are for real, the Palace will be booming again. If I'm Gores, I'd do whatever it takes to fill the stands. It may be the icing on the cake to keep Moose. The chemistry since having Smith booted from town has been infectious and this is the toughest team I have seen in years. If they can keep it up, people won't just be talking about playoffs but a 4th NBA Championship and a Disney movie to follow... Lol!!!

This is a nonissue. There will be more fans at the game on Friday. If the Pistons continue this trend of playing great team basketball, the Palace will be packed again. I'm sure this is a message the team hears everyday. Attendance dwindled over years of futility, but I expect everyone will be surprised at how quickly the crowds come back if they're winning at a good rate. You're telling us it will break their fragile psyche if the Palace isn't packed to the rafters on Friday? :P

I don't wanna go back to reality, I love the streak, I love that we hung the worst lose of Brons career on him, I love that we win games (in a row even), and I love that "WE BUILT A F@#$%ING WALL."

This is the most fun I've had as a Pistons fan in years, and I'm going to ride it out as long as I can :)

This is my new reality.

Sure, the Pistons can't win every game. Atlanta is definitely going to test their ability to keep their streak alive. But, at least this team competes now. Whether we win or lose tomorrow against ATL, I know this team won't lay down and give up if they get hit.

Meh.

Nothing but sustained good play will get more butts in the seats. Nobody said it was going to happen right away.

I don't need to go "back to reality". I feel I already had a pretty good grasp of it. We're better off than we were before Christmas. That's all anyone can ask.

I never saw a Pistons post on Facebook for a few years until this week.. I've seen many this week, even casual fans are starting to notice.
