Changes still need to be made

1) it's time to trade Singler.. He doesn't fit and doesn't do anything well.
2) Meeks should start at the 2.
3) KCP should start at the 3.
4) I'm liking Tolliver and would like to see his minutes continue to increase
5) I'd love to move Datome and Martin for 2nd round pick considerations

Changes I thought we should make but shouldn't:
1) Jennings: I can't believe I'm saying this but he is a team player.. I thought he was just a chucker but I guess Smith just brought out the worst in him.
2) D.J. I didn't think he was a bad player.. I just didn't think he fit with us. His PER is like 9. Since Smith has gone to infect Houston with his team destroying cancer, D.J. Looks like he can start for us.

Singler had a terrible game yesterday. But him not fitting or doing anything well is a flat out lie. Pure and simple. And what's the point of trading him if you're forced to start an undersized wing combo of Meeks and KCP? That would mean you didn't trade for a starting SF. So exactly WTF would you be trading him for? What are you getting in return if you're not addressing your #1 need?

Careful what you wish for. Right now the team is just meshing well and playing like a team. You don't just go making trades or moving people out of lineups for **** and giggles in the midst of a seven game winning streak in dominating fashion. Singler is fine for now, he's constantly running around on offense and is a good 3 point shooter with low usage. Don't touch anything at the moment,

We all know we need a SF so thats a given. But one of my problems with the team is DJ. Both of our PG's shoot a lot it would be nice to have a back up thats a pass first guy cause DJ was killin us in the SAS game before he got hot and the Dallas game he just got hot but that doesn't change my opinion.

As much as I groan when I see Singler on the floor, I agree. TOUCH NOTHING. Unless of course, some kind of trade involving a real starting SF comes along.

If anything, we need to look at a deal to take on a contract (SF upgrade) for crap expirings and 2nd rounders...

Singler needs to pick it up. However, it's not really a good idea to expect much from him. He's like a 8th/9th player on a decent team.

That starting SF is still open (&has been for a long, long time with the Pistons ).

You don't chance a damn thing right now. Chemistry is more important - not to mention with the way all others are playing/scoring, bringing in a upgrade SF might come in looking for his own shot whereas Singler is content being the 5th option on the floor.

Singler has been stinking it up lately. But, there really isn't an apparent upgrade out there that would be worth the price of admission.

KCP is big enough to play spot minutes at the 3, but he's not a full timer there.

I don't think we should fix what isn't broken right now.

And most of what you are saying is already happening in some spot minutes. Meeks plays 2 and KCP players the 3 during small ball lineups which seems to work really well. And Singler doesn't get THAT much minutes anyways.

I think KCP is already playing nearly 20 minutes at the 3-spot.

I thought about playing KCP at the three and Meeks at the 2 too . I hate how Singler played last night , but I hate the thought of changing the rotation even more, it's working so well. Another thing when Singler's hitting his shots he doesn't hurt us that much and he's dirt cheap.

Team is meshing well, why mess with it.

We should move Gigi, wouldn't bother with trading Martin, but for who? Nobody is giving us a 2nd for either or both. We basically can only trade Gigi to a team looking to save money now or after this season. Or a straight garbage for garbage. Gigi to the Pelicans for John Salmons for example. There are no deals worth making with Gigi.

Basically once we have a decent amount of time for practice we should sign someone to a ten day to see how they'll fit. Like Quincy Miller for example.

Wait until we come down to earth to make moves ;) but yes once we do, getting a great shooting SF will make this team insane. After the way SVG booted Josh and got us Meeks and DJ I have total confidence in him.

Definitely need to get more athletic at the 3. If the right deal is out there then make it, otherwise wait until offseason to address SF.

I totally agree with everyone that we need a legit SF. But this isn't a one season turnaround to make it to the Finals. If we get into the playoffs this year, that's great. I think SF will be addressed in the offseason and after Monroe, will be our top priority (like 1 and 1A).

That being said, it doesn't hurt to keep looking for opportunities. I just don't see what we have to trade besides first rounders that would bring is back anything of value.

I don't know what is worse: overreacting when we're winning or overreacting when we're losing.

^ Exactly this. And even if trading our first rounder could bring a piece to push us into the playoffs right now (i.e Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler, etc.), I'd be against it 'cuz that first round pick could and should be at least a solid contributor off our bench on a rookie contract for the next few years. With Monroe's situation this off season, plus more cap space to spend, plus all our expiring contracts in 2016, plus Drummond's inevitable max contract extension on the horizon, I want that "cheap labor!"

Yeah, this 100%. Long term we do need a legitimate starting SF. But right now, If I'm SVG I'm not making any changes unless an offer that he literally cannot refuse (think Sheed trade) comes along.
