GT: Pistons (8-1) @ Raptors (25-11) ~ 7:30 PM EST
this is a key game if we want to make the playoffs (every game from now on is) and we may have caught the raps at a good time, they have struggled after they just ended a four game losing streak and have lost 5 of their last 8.
demar derozan was expected to return this past week (thursday, specifically) but did not so it will be interesting to see if he plays. if he does it definitely helps the raps as he is their go-to guy in clutch situations since he's their best one-on-one player. if he doesn't then you can expect to see lowry dominate the ball in the clutch.
the raps have been awful defensively in the past couple of weeks. since our last game against them, they have allowed 100+ points in 8 out the 10 games, and the two times they didn't they gave up 98 to the clippers and 96 to the Celtics. they've been giving up 109 points in the 10 games.
i'll be at the game sitting 8 rows behind the pistons bench so i'll try to take pics/vids of the game, although I usually suck at being the 'picture guy'. i'll definitely take a few pics at least and upload them here for anyone that cares.
go pistons!

One of my favorite things to do on game day, is to check out the opposing teams game thread, and read outside perspectives on our team, and good conversation. I don't know if that's possible for this game. Good grief at their game thread.

Me too. But you think that one is bad you should have seen the last one when we faced them it was like 10 pages about how no one in Detroit has water.

I'll be at this one too. I can't wait. I need Detroit to win this one. There's nothing better than seeing the Raptors loss with a stadium full of bandwagon fans, especially at the hands of the Pistons.

If we beat these guys on they're home court I'm going to LMAO!!! They have so many trolls and it will make for a wonderful night. We have the better Frontcourt and better defense. If our shots are falling we could put a whooping on em.

Hmm.
Definitely an interesting game.
I'm done tacking up games as "sure losses" after winning in San Antonio and Dallas, but this'll be a tough one.

This is a winnable game- I expect Lowry to destroy us but I think DrumRoe should be able to power us to victory-

It's basically 5 pages of glorifying a role player. It's kind of funny, actually.

Yeah, exactly, page after page of just this kind of stuff. I didn't feel compelled to post anything over there, despite having the distinct impression that the thread was being dominated by 12 year olds. Oh, and someone needs to tell Johnson he needs more color in his ink as he's a weak second to the Birdman. How can you say "dumbest player in the NBA" to a fan base that's had to endure Josh Smith?

It would seem, your having the same problem I have. It's hard to just forget how this team played in the first 28 games, and be confident going into a game like this. I look at the records, and first thought, "big loss", then, oh wait, "just as long as they play hard", "wait a minute they beat dallas, and San Antonio on the road, they can win", to "hope the scores close".Snakebites wrote:Hmm.

I just don't have faith, like a fan normally would in a team that has played like this team has in its past 9 games.
Can't shake the feeling of waiting for the bottom to fall out at any moment. Feel kinda bad about it, but after that hawks game, where I was validated early, then that comeback, made it even more confusing.
*sigh*

I think right now it's just best to enjoy the ride either way it comes. They could absolutely flourish or (unlikely) these 8 of 9 could've been an anomaly in a disastrous season. I can't sit and say that they'll beat Toronto, but I think they have a reasonable chance to do so. As long as the team plays hard and shows evolution I'm happy.
We've gotta diversify our offensive sets though. Everything is basic right now as we had to focus on defense, which I think is why Meeks has struggled from deep lately.
