As for Lakers, they have been very active since 12/15. Made calls on Waiters, Jennings, Monroe. Asst GM Glen Carraro is working the phones.

Seen it on the GB, Don't know what they could offer that would even get our attention.

Randle for Monroe (let them try to re-sign him)
Nash and exchanging 1st rounders (options in our favor) for Jennings.
Still have big FA $s available this summer
The streak is great... may even get us in the playoffs but does it get us closer to the ultimate goal?

Yes, why trade Monroe for a guy that broke his leg and may not live up to the hype anymore?

I understand that Lakers could S&T him if he didn't want to re-sign there with their cap space - I just don't think a mid-season move is something Moose would think was good for him. Not to mention the Lakers would offer nothing since there are no guarantees he'd sign there, so why would Detroit let him see if the grass is greener for no real return, and give up his still valuable Bird Rights for whatever crud LA was offering.

Pass, pass, and pass.

Randle is crud?

Is it known that Randle was offered? I am operating under the impression that LA wouldn't offer Randle for a rental of Monroe with no guarantees he'd re-sign. And Monroe wants to be a free agent and explore all options so he's not going to give any assurances of signing anywhere.
