GT: Pistons (9-2) at Pacers (15-25)- Tonight at 6 CST/7EST

Post#1 » by princeofpalace » Fri Jan 16, 2015 7:12 pm

Detroit is coming off a blowout loss to the Pelicans. Pacers are coming off two losses to bottom feeders- the Timberwolves and the 6ers. This is a big game for our playoff hopes, as it would give us a better record than the Pacers and tie us at 9th with the Bobcats. Brooklyn is tanking, their playoff spot is ours for the taking if we continue to play with energy and effort.

Greg had 19 points/15 boards in the last matchup with IND, neither West nor Hibbert were able to contain him. I would like to see us establish Monroe’s post game early because IND would be forced to bring a double team leaving a shooter open which could help our struggling perimeter shooters help .

I would also like to see Drummond respond to criticism from SVG/Jennings by beasting tonight. Andre had 20 points/6 boards in the last matchup with Pacers.

We need this W. I think a back to back loss against non playoff teams would really hurt our momentum.

The Pacers are without their starting PG George Hill, which should give Detroit an advantage

What I've seen from Dre shows that he's in some mental funk or going through a slump right now. His defense wasn't there the last 4 games nor any energy and hustle that you usually see with a guy like him. Hopefully he comes out to play and start catching lobs and try to establish deep post position early on with fire. That was what is lacking from him during his "literally mental" breakdown.

Need to win these games - not just to get us into the playoffs, but if we want to move up to a 6 seed and get a better matchup, every win counts.

This is a must win for me. the last game was a big disappointment, so the boys need to win this one to keep the playoff dream alive.
fingers crossed Drummond breaks out of his funk because West and Hibbert are dangerous.

If we lose we will be 2.5 games behind Indiana and 3.5 games behind Nets for the 8th seed

If dre doesn't put up 30 and 30 this board might implode

i cant see us losing this one tbh even considering how garbage drummond has been. indiana is just too bad and cant score.

a loss would be a huge disappointment

Great opportunity to move into 9th place with a win tonight.

Hopefully good Drummond shows up and we pick up a win. That, or supernova hot Jennings.

Pretty big game for us imo.
Can shoot into 9th place. And a loss would be a real confidence killer for this team.

I expect Dre to come to play.

It would be good to move into 9th position, rather than take a step back. I didn't watch the Pelicans game live (dvr), but yes it was ugly. Spent a little time away from the electronic world enjoying the outdoors. Drummond certainly did struggle. All I'll say on some previous comments is; real clinicians would be considerably more cautious than the folks tossing diagnoses around on here.

I just hope he can get back on an even keel and the team moves forward.

Even after Jennings made that 3, he still recognized it was a mistake to take that shot that early
