"He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Mon Jan 19, 2015 2:36 am

He added that many of his detractors don't know the "true story" of what happened in Detroit. - "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"

"That team is playing pretty good basketball right now, but so are we," Howard said. "He's been a great piece for us and a great addition. You can't really focus on what everybody else is saying, all you can do is control what you do on the floor." - Dwight Howard

He-who-must-not-be-named is shooting 39% and 27% (from 3) in his last five games. He's also turning the ball over twice in 21 minutes. Tell us the "true" story he-who-must-not-be-named.

Cringe worthy commentary, we don't know the real story eh?

Unless it was a Taken style kidnapping and the only way to free your daughter was to chuck and chuck and chuck, I don't care what the story is. The proof is in the pudding.

Cool that Smith said some good thing about his former team and in all honesty we really don't know what happened. Even Stan didn't know we would play this good without him. Maybe SVG's was being cool and giving him his money and the opportunity to play with a contender but we really don't know. But to be honest I really don't care about him anymore he is off our team and playing for Houston who cares what he thinks and says.

As someone who was high on smith (past tense mind you)I never realized just how much he destroys team ball. It's like one of those, you have to experience it first hand kind of deals.

Watching him shoot those 20 foot jumpers was like death by a million cuts.

Enjoy Houston, and I could care less what real story someone has. We know our teams real story, and that's all that matters to me.

Dwight Howard's a cupcake, he's the last guy i'd take seriously.

If the Pistons played the Rockets tomorrow we would probably beat them. Harden is a stud with a capital S but he cant do it alone.

All I care is that the Pistons chose to take the high road. Maybe it was simply that they wanted to expedite the youth movement. That seems implausible to me as deciding to cut your highest paid player implies greater problems than just that. The part about how people want to say things about you "when you leave" doesn't really apply in this case. Maybe the media said some things, but I can't recall seeing a single negative quote by any Piston. The closest might be Jennings saying that he and Smith were seen in the same light as they were brought in at the same time. I suppose Dwight is just supporting his friend, but I think most around here are just glad it's over and would prefer to just let it go.

 I guest I'm the only one around here that likes Dwight Howard. Became one of my favorite players when he and that Orlando team whooped the Cavs that year.

I don’t necessarily hate him. Just think he is a bit soft and a lot too playful. I was going to say a bit juvenile but I think that would be a bit too strong. That’s why Shaq is always on his case.

Dwight Howard is one of those players that I would seriously have a very hard time rooting for if he was a Piston. I'm not a fan of his lack of accountability at all. Lost respect for him after he asked for Stan to be fired in Orlando then pleaded ignorance right after.

I can't stand Dwight Howard. He's one of the only "stars" I wouldn't like here. I hate everything about that clown. He also went behind SVG's back like a bitch and I'm pretty fond of Van Gundy (even before he came here. **** Dwight Howard. I'm a 6'1 Italian and I'd drop that 7 foot clown. He's a fake "tough guy" too.. Even Kevin Durant's skinny ass punked him out.

Sorry for the rant.. haha. I can't stand "D12".

Howard might be the worst person in the NBA, a slimy, weasel douche (not that many professional athletes are good people). We don't know the "true story"? That is the same crap he has been serving for a long time--still stuck in middle school.

I don't get why you'd say "not that many professional athletes are good people." I expect they're good people in about the same proportion as people in general, and it's been my observation that most people are good people. It just when people who have some celebrity aren't good people it gets a lot more attention. Dwight, certainly, has been something of a diva.

^ I'm not sure why you would expect them to be good in the same proportion as the general public, considering that their life situations are not normal. But maybe it would take an array of interactions with them to make the call. I do not make my claim based on news reports. My interactions with pro and collegiate athletes (football and basketball players) leads me to estimate maybe 80 percent of them are disrespectful and egotistical (sure, we must account for bias--so, YMMV). I also have the impression that they don't typically treat women well--no statistics to back this up--correct me if I'm wrong. What percentage of NBA players would be good enough for your daughter to marry, in your eyes?

Dwight seems to have childhood issues. It's like he's being the kid he never got to be or something.
