I guess at least he is a veteran with a good amount of experience? I didn't really expect a major move (at least yet) and maybe something bigger will come at the deadline.

I'm hoping that this was plan C, because I can't think of one particular thing he does well. Not a particularly good shooter, or scorer, or passer, or defender.
It's only a 10-day, but I'm sure we can do better than this even without giving up any assets.

Just another body to use in practice. SVG might make a bigger deal at the trade deadline.

I'll be mad if this guy gets any minutes for us, Dinwiddie is way better.

Geez guys, we at least needed a 3rd PG on the roster. You get what you can get until you can get what you want.

why not a.j. price or jordan farmar?
SVG is pissing me off with his freaking high-character-nice-guy signings. it seems thats the only player-type he's interested in

"Lucas averaged 27 points, seven assists and five rebounds per game for Fujian and possesses the shooting threat Van Gundy covets from all of his perimeter players he uses to surround big men Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe".
-marc stein
cool by me. we need more scoring. whatever he can bring will help.

I'll tell you what Stan has in his mind.
It's a 10-day contract. What else ends in 10 days? The trade deadline. So I think he's getting him here while in the meanwhile looking for other options. It's actually pretty smart.

and dinwiddie hasnt shown he can score. plus hes a rookie. hes not ready.
this guy has at least proven to play 15mpg and score 6-7 ppg. dinwiddie isnt even doing that right now. our bench last night put up like what 9 points? not enough to win any night. whatever perimeter scoring we can get is fine by me. svg obviously isnt trading away picks/assets.

That's what I'm thinking Stan is doing. It's 10 days until the trade deadline and it's a 10 day contract. I think he's just assurance that by the deadline, he'll sign someone. It could be Lucas or it could be anyone in a trade that might come up by the deadline. Anything can happen in the next 10 days as far as trades and teams making desperate moves moving picks and what not.
