Game thread. Should be an easy win for the Pistons against the D-League team from New York. Is there anyway we don't win this?

After watching years of horrible detroit basketball, no win is a guarantee for me

I can't help but think about those PHI losses we had. We would be in the playoffs if we could just beat PHI... Anyways, I think we are a highly motivated team right now so I expect a blowout. One thing I don't think anyone has mentioned about Jackson is that he is a really high energy player every night. That is something SVG highly values and I understand why. Hopefully Jackson's presence buffers some of those nights where we are playing with low energy. We are 10x better when we play with energy.

the knicks have been blown out 3 straight times since the all star break, and had lost five in a row even before that.
I'm hoping no starter plays more than 25 minutes.

We should win by 15+, but you never really can know. I hope to see a lot of Dinwiddie and Quincey Miller debut for the Pistons tonight. Should really look to blow'em out to leave that lasting impression of the Knicks in the mind of Monroe for re-signing purposes.

Yup, especially since we have WAS on a back to back. We could be having good timing with WAS though. They have dropped off big time.

Losing to the Sixers (again) is about the only thing more disheartening than losing to this Knicks team. Not a gimme, but I'll be pretty pissed if we don't handle them relatively easily.

Good points. This is a great opportunity to get extended looks at Dinwiddie and Miller and show Moose how terrible the Knicks really are. We need to put them away in the first half or else we will most likely end up in a battle, which is not what we want for our confidence and for the first game of a back to back.

The winning streak starts tonight. We need to separate ourselves from cha, bos, ind, brk. We are the better team out of those bunch. Cya!

Welp, not so much for Quincey as he's in Grand Rapids tonight it seems -
Grand Rapids Drive ‏@grdleague 48m48 minutes ago
OFFICIAL: @DetroitPistons assignee Quincy Miller, currently on a 10-day contract, will be in GR for tonight's game!
Doesn't seem to make a lick of sense to me, but maybe it's a case of the Drive trading Willie Reed and them needing a PF in an emergency or something. But have to believe there would have been minutes for him in tonight's game - I wonder if he turns down a second 10-day contract if the idea is he's going to be in the D-League with the Pistons.

So if Brooklyn loses tonight and we win, we will be tied for the 8th seed.

i think the d-league stint for quincy is more about him getting comfortable and familiar with SVG's system. stan has already said he views him as a developmental piece moving forward. if quincy is cool with that, awesome. i'd love to see him groomed into the stretch combo forward that we're gonna need off the bench in a few years when tolliver either leaves or can't contribute at a high level anymore.

No win is guaranteed, but I'd like to think this game should be ours and by a nice winning margin too.

A must win imo. If they lose it will hurt

Man, the Knicks have next to nothing right now. THJ better not go off on us, because he truly sucks. Actually, every recent UM pro has sucked big time... THJ, Burke, and Nik. LeVert better hope people don't notice that.

Mitch McGary says hello

Good point on McGary... except he's played a total of ten games so far and may have chronic injury issues. He's an asset I'd like to have, but OKC seems to now have him buried behind Ibaka, Kanter, Adams, and maybe even Collison.
I'd like to get Mitch if Monroe walks, actually. He wouldn't come cheap in trade, though, as OKC seems like him, even if he won't play much with Kanter around.

I think McGary is gonna be very good if he can stay healthy, his game translates very well. Nik, Trey, and THJ I think can all find roles but won't be stars. GR3 definitely should've stayed another year. Hopefully Caris learns from GR3, but I wouldn't blame him if he knows he'll get a 1st rd contract and is worried about losing a lot of $$ if he stayed in college and risked getting injured again.
It's crazy that Michigan is even in this position where they have this many recent guys in the league now. But enough about that, back to the Pistons...
