March Madness

Post#1 » by Ghost » Thu Mar 19, 2015 3:17 pm

Since we have been losing and this is always entertaining, can we have a thread to discuss the tournament?

If you've filled out a bracket, who's your final 4?

Which teams are you most excited to watch?

What players will you be keying on?

How much stock do you put in tournament performance for prospects?

I know a lot of people are looking at Russell, he plays at 3:40 today vs VCU.

Yeah I was thinking of making a similar thread as well. I think we'll all be watching guys like Winslow and Johnson.

Everyone always talks up VCU's "Havoc" defense, but when it comes tourney time and they face a truly elite PG (see Trey Burke 2013), the press isn't that hard to break. I expect Russell to similarly dismantle them.

I picked Kentucky in my small bracket pool, and Arizona in my medium pool of about 50 people (contrarian pick since everyone will be picking UK, and it's hard to win money that way).

Looking forward to SMU and Larry Brown actually. Would be cool if they could win a few games. Their second game against Iowa St not gonna be too easy though. Arizona vs Duke in the finals and we'll get to see which SF we want :)

Already saw RJ Hunter go on a personal run to knock out Baylor, after Iowa State lost to UAB. Nuts. Thankfully, I didn't have either of them go that far, nor do I think anybody had any of them getting upset early in the bracket I have money on.

Johnson dominated as Arizona cruised to a win. Jerian Grant had an okay game in a tight one with Northeaster.

Guy to watch right now is Looney, who's UCLA squad if beating SMu right now.

Later tonight we'll see Russell, Delon Wright, everyone on Kentucky, and finally Bobby Portis as the day's closer.

UCLA just won.

I Freakin had Iowa State in the Title game ROFL. I really thought after their conference title run and how they were built and coached that they could make some noise. RIP. Oh well

I've said before I'd take Russell #1 in the draft, and he didn't do anything to change that today.

Johnson was a beast today. Commentators were talking about how he looks like LeBron taking it to the rim for a dunk along with his size.

Watching Towns right now. I would take him #1 over Okafor in a heartbeat. This kid is going to be a beast.
