OT: MCW shooting 7.7% from 3pt since trade

KCP gets bashed on our boards quite a bit for "chucking" and missing shots. MCW and Burke where both in the discussion during the draft and a number of you had either of them > KCP. Milwakee's acquisition of MCW had many believing that they'd take the next step, which BK7 couldn't take them too. That's obviously a lie. i believe Burke has been benched , though i think he's improving.

i have said myself, don't define a player in his 2nd season, and so i think there is still hope for MCW. What will ultimately determine his success in the league is his development of a jump shot. 7.7% from 3 isn't going to cut it, and the fact that his TO to assist ratio is really high is also discouraging. Could it be a adjustment period? much like RJ?

Going to be interesting to see what happens to Milwaukee.

Well, just for some perspective, that stat means he's taken a whopping 13 three pointers since the trade and made one of them.

That's a very small sample size that can't be reasonably projected over any period of time at all.

Don't get me wrong. Guy can't shoot and that's going to be a problem for him and any team invested in him (in other words I'm in general agreement with the spirit of the post), but I'm just not a big fan of misleading statistics.

While he has only shot 13 3's , he has played 12 games. in those 12 games he's shooting 7.7%, and 26% before the trade. i get what your saying, but my point remains the same, he needs to develop that jump shot.

MCW has been a let down to be honest. Knight was a better player for the Bucks by far.

Meanwhile Reggie Jackson took 45 3pt attempts and made 13 as a Piston in 13 games.

While both MCW and Reggie have a bad jumpers, there is a big difference. MCW is still locked up in a rookie contract two more years. Reggie wants 10+ mil dollars as soon as this summer.

MCW was never going to be great, he cant throw it in the ocean. That was easy to see at Syracuse. I wouldnt have touched him with a 10 foot pole.

Milwakee is on a 6 game losing street. As a Knight fan, i am not suprised. Idiotic trade

I think it was a combination of that, and they value Middleton more. They wanna make sure they can pay him.

they can exceed the cap to sign either player, so it really doesn't make sense if that's the case.

Does it matter that he can hit a J if he rarely shoots a J?

Jason Kidd played how many seasons before people stopped calling him Ason?

Rondo played how many seasons before his J was respectable?

MCW is unlikely to reach the level of those guys but if he's ever gonna develop working with Kidd is the place to be.

Give him time

as i've stated, i think he can improve, as he's young, but it starts with his jumper. Jason kidd and Rondo are very 2 unique players, while MCW has that potential, comparing him to either is a stretch, and idk if they were ever this bad. Rondo i don't think has a respectable jumper yet.

Also in reference to where kCP is at now and MCW, i am much happier with KCP. i believe Milwakee is on a 6 game losing streak!?

I said MCW would suck in college, and I've been against him every step of the way. TO prone, can't shoot, weak, incredibly overrated defender, TO prone as hell, not a great decision maker. He's hot garbage. The comparisons to Kidd and Rondo are incredibly far off because those guys were absolute maestros running their offenses and top-notch defenders. Kidd is the GOAT rebounding guard, he rebounded more like a PF than a PG, a legit impact player on the glass. MCW is not in the same stratosphere as those guys in what made them great, so everyone needs to stop with the comparisons. He sucks at everything.

They were leaps and bounds better than mcw In all other areas. That's like saying Mateen Cleaves could've been a star since he blocked as many shots as Chris Paul.

Well your comparison was an overreaction. If you gave a comparison to a player in a similar tier as MCW, then it would be a valid comparison.
