Trade thread
What happened to our trade thread? Anyway, I'll kick this one off with a couple from the trade forum.
Pilly sends #16, #19, #35, #37 for Jennings and #8. Unload Jennings and get extra picks
NO sends Gordon for Jennings and Meeks. Gordon is expiring next season, so we shave a year off Meeks' deal.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I don't like either, but there not horrible. How about Jennings, Butler, Martin, and Meeks for Joe Johnson.

Responding to all that have been posted so far ...
Z-E-R-O interest. Two maybe role players and two second round prospects are not worth the opportunity to add a true core player at #8. In short, we need quality, not quantity, and we shouldn't be desperate to dump Jennings seeing as he's expiring.
I actually love this one because I think Gordon > Meeks and Jennings is utterly expendable with Jackson and Dinwiddie looking set to take all of our PG minutes next year. The financial benefit of shaving a year off of Meeks' deal is icing on the cake.
I just find it hard to find the allure of Johnson, at his age and contract, on the team that SVG is building. The value's fair enough if that's the direction we're going, but I just hope that's not the direction we're going.
And another one that's been floated on the T&T board a number of times — Jennings to the Lakers for an opted-in Jordan Hill?

While I'd refuse to give Drummond, Kcp, Jackson & our first round picks (unless top 12 restricted for 2 years), I'd love to trade for Noah Vonleh from Charlotte. I do admit I've been a fan since his College season but I just think he's the perfect complement to Drummond. He's not there yet but I don't think we should be trying to assemble a playoff team yet. One more year in lottery would bode well for our teams ceiling later down the track and once he gets confident and that shot starts dropping (he has 3pt range and a nice stroke for a big guy), I think we would have a pretty solid team.
I highly doubt we could trade for him given the restrictions I placed so kindle pointless :/ haha

Re: Trade thread
Jennings to the Lakers would be just plain cruel to BJ... Kobe is his idol, and a season of Kobe verbally ripping him to shreds for his shot selection and effort on defense would destroy Brandon's soul.

Assuming that both Greg Monroe leaves and Reggie Jackson stays...
Brandon Jennings and Caron Butler for David Lee?

Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Wish this was possible. Detroit/Chicago/Houston. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qby2e3l
I think Motiejunas and Tony Snell would be perfect fits in SVG system and great pieces to add with our young core players. Then trade this years 8th or 9th pick to Charlotte for Noah Vonleh.

Pretty sure that Brandon Jennings would be in heaven if he got traded to LA
Parties, great weed, chance to play with his idol and all time favorite player
Kobe may actually spur him to improve especially since he is so sick of playing with terrible PGs for the past few years that i think Kobe would be happy to have someone half-decent like Jennings running the point
Jennings for Jordan Hill would be HUGE for us.

Vonleh was picked 9th in last year's draft. The 8th pick in this draft figures to be even than last year's #9. So I say no.

Is it more cruel than Buss signing Rondo to a multi-year deal???

After seeing Rondo the past couple seasons + his attitude... I would take Jennings

Re: Trade thread
Wallace, Olynyk, #16 & #28 for #8? Would they do it? Is it a good idea for us?
Olynyk would bring a stretch four, then we have #16 & #28.

Re: Trade thread
How about Jennings for Calderon and a NY 2016 2nd? I think the Knicks bite because it gets them out of a year of Calderon's deal and has the potential to really upgrade their point guard play.
For the Pistons, Calderon could provide a stabilizing option behind Reggie so Dinwiddie isn't force fed minutes as the sole back up when he isn't playing well. Calderon is an excellent three point shooter who plays both guard positions. He could also swing to the shooting guard and allow KCP to play some minutes at the small forward.

Re: Trade thread
I'm sure the Knicks would like that, but I don't think I do. Calderon's defense is worse than Jennings', and while he's a superior shooter, he's not much of a creator at all. Just makes the solid play, nothing more. He wouldn't help Drummond.

Re: Trade thread
Trade really doesn't make sens, Jennings is younger and can do the same things basically. Yes he's coming of a injury, but I think he will comeback strong

Re: Trade thread
Unfortunately we don't have much to trade besides Jennings, Meeks and the pick. And the pick isn't getting traded unless it's a no brainer because rookie contracts are staying the same when the cap explodes. That means a core player for cheap and more money to spend elsewhere.
I do like that Jennings & Meeks for Gordon though. Pelicans say no though.

Re: Trade thread
No way you give up on Jennings, and especially not for what you proposed. Jennings and Reggie Jackson can coexist, move KCP to SF and run a 3 guard offense.

Re: Trade thread
So what do you think of the other move if Monroe were to leave?
I think if we were able to add Motiejunas, Snell, Vonleh and Papanikolauo to our team we would be Champions within 3 years if not sooner. JMO.

Folks better get used to seeing Jennings in a Piston uniform. Some of these trade proposal are pretty disrespectful to my young guy.
How about trading our 8th pick for Harrison Barnes and a future 1st?
