O.T. Michigan says "Suck it" in historic vote on roads.

Post#1 » by zeebneeb » Wed May 6, 2015 12:40 pm

How many people voted no on that absurd proposal? 80%. A historic vote, that I for one am excited about. What does it show? That Michigan voters can't be fooled into voting for an asinine round about plan to fix our roads.

Now come up with a reasonable plan to fix the roads, and I will gladly vote for it.

How about a two year, 3% sales tax hike, and return?

How about they drop the bill and figure out how to appropriately spend the $60 billion they already piddle away every year?

All options are bad options so why does it even matter? Politicians should all be doing life in federal prisons. Can we get some police brutality on these bastards?

If only people realized how important local elections are compared to the national ones. National turnout for voting is low enough as it is as a country proclaiming democracy and a republic, local turnout is even worse. This is why we get crappy candidates in local reps and state senates as well as the governor.

Sigh. If I could vote, I would.

I agree that Michigan road sucks. I have gotten a flat tire going down Southfield Expressway from a pothole they are so bad. Thus, whenever I drive up there, I dodge potholes while I drive.

I wish the real world worked like the government minded world. this would be like me driving a car that I know is on its last leg, but instead of budgeting and setting money aside for the day that it breaks down, I continue going about business as usual. then when it finally does break down, I go to my boss and tell him that even though he pays me a decent salary, im broke, and I need him to buy me a new car or I wont be able to make it in to work anymore. I wonder what my boss would tell me?

government is like that idiot relative thats bad with money. theyre always in craps place, and no matter how much you try to help them out they just keep coming at you with their hand out, looking for more.

I like how Snyder said immediately afterward, "We know the roads have to be fixed and we will get them fixed." Which means the roads were going to get fixed no matter what because they're so bad they have to be fixed. Which means Prop 1 was never necessary. Which is just the icing on the cake of my "no" vote.

Would things be any better if somebody else held his position? Unlikely. They're all crooks

The entire system is set up to prevent a normal person from ever winning and spending tax money wisely.

More taxes on the rich!

More taxes on the super rich companies!

Elected on a Saturday, assassinated on a Sunday, buried on Monday!

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
