Josh Smith last night

Post#1 » by gusman » Fri May 15, 2015 7:11 pm

Did any of you see josh smith pretty much win the game for the rockets last night. Back to back 3s and great defense. Lol.

He could be the piece that gets them a championship.

Yes! As much as I would enjoy watching him brick 3s for another team, him playing well is good for us. Get paid Josh $$$

Good. I hope it convinces some team to offer him a $10 million a year contract!

He's averaging 7 points on sub 30% shooting for the series.

Before he hit those threes he was 2-12 from 3PT for the series

Josh Smith also threw a dig at SVG and the Pistons players saying that when you have a coach and players that believe in you it is alot easier to perform

What about living up to the biggest Pistons' contract in franchise history

Josh Smith is a piece of **** and karma is the biggest b, lets go Clippers

Overall in the playoffs he's been great for them and had several really big games when they needed him to. No sugar coating it, he's played a key role in their success thus far.

It will encourage teams to offer him more in free agency, and beyond that my dislike for him had to do with his inconsistency and failure to adapt as a player, not for his personality or lack of professionalism. He's not destroying our offense with his chucking anymore, so I wont hold a grudge.

Him hitting those 3s will just make him chuck up that many more throughout the playoffs. It will catch up to him and he will really hurt them.

That's word for word exactly what he did for us. He had once good game for every 3 games he literally shot us out of.

This is only going to encourage him to go 1 for 5 for the most important playoff game of his career in game 7.

Just 5?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

He'll be benched long by then. At least that's what I'm thinking since McHale isn't that incompetent.

Let's predict how many threes he misses in the game Sunday. I'll say six.

Makes no difference for what the Pistons owe him:

Once the Pistons exercised the stretch provision, and deferred Smith's last two years under contract over five years of payments, none of that amount can be defrayed. Smith won't get his $13.5 million per year for the next two years on the original schedule, but he'll get every penny, and still be free to sign with another NBA team in future seasons, without reducing payments he receives from Detroit.

We need a sticky thread with the following:

Cap Space

S&T rules due to Monroe

RFA rules due to RJ

Stretch Provision due to Smith.

These are topics that continually come up and while the info has been posted numerous times good luck finding it every time it's needed

Exactly. Makes no difference to Gores pocketbook. Just to our cap hit/space. The more he makes from another team the less cap space we lose

I hope it hurts the Rockets in Game 7. Can't stand that team
