Hinkie probably watched and got on the phone looking to trade Noel for a second lottery first this year and a future first.

From what I've gathered there's a contingent of 76ers fans terrified Hinkie is just going to grab him at #3.

Nobody wants to miss the next dirk basically, and I can't fault them for that. He looks great, but man, I just can't see anything but darko.

Yeah, he's not dropping. Have to hope Herzonja or Winslow do. Again, all it takes is someone deciding they really need a defensive big and taking WCS....

I won't call it racist, since that's not the right term, but that's irrationally prejudice.

And I will readily admit to it. I just cant see past Darko. If we do end up with Mario, I'll feel the same way. I have watch a bunch of full games, of both these guys, and both of them look great, with Mario being able to start immediately in my opinion.
There is just something about the transition that makes players with obvious talent falter here, and much like guilty until proven innocent, these guys are busts, until they prove otherwise to me.
Sigh. I'll be both happy, and wanting stan to trade him immediately because his value is still high if we end up with either of these guys.

Listen to the kid interview - no Darko there. He's very "Americanized" already - so no real concern about culture shock or teammate isolation out of the gate. Seems at ease, comfortable in his own skin.

Not a fan of the environment they're working out in. But, his jumper is really smooth. Pretty quick and high release.
It was never likely he was going to be there at 8, this may have cemented that idea.

Yeah, but I think that there's some of that around the league.

That's why I've been so high on the Euros of this year. They have such great fundamentals, starting with shooting.
He's easily top 5 maybe, 3 even. Hell, someone may take him at 1 too.

If Porzingis goes before Detroit, that doesn't mean Hezonja or Winslow are automatically going to be there.
1. KAT, 2. Okafor, 3. Russell, 4. Mudiay, 5. Porzingis, 6. Winslow, 7. Hezonja.
We still need a team to grab someone else, like Cauley-Stein. Which is absolutely possible, but thems the facts.

Been singing this tune for a while now.
The odds of at least one team deciding they need a rim protector and taking Stein are actually pretty decent, but its by no means a guarantee.

It's not a guarantee but I feel pretty good about it. WCS's stock was rising even before people learned he can actually shoot the ball a little bit. It's one thing to do it in a workout, but his form and consistency with his shot in workouts is very impressive considering most thought he was Tyson Chandler at best in terms of offensive game. It's a stark contrast to Okafor, who's shot looks horrendous both in form and makes/misses.
All of that considered, I think the probability that the Knicks, Kings and Nuggets all pass on WCS while at the exact same time none of Payne/Booker/Turner rise into the top 7 is pretty low.
