I say do not sign him he is only 6'9 are roster is filled ,his stats
PPG RPG BLKPG PER
1.8 1.9 1.0 14.74

We do not need him anymore if anything we need another 7 footer not 6'9
He has no outside 3pt shot or midrange shot, just a bench warmer.

If there's a roster spot at the end of the offseason you sign him.
He was solid in his role last year and he'll come in on a minimum deal.
SVG has stated multiple times he wants Anthony back, so i think it happens.

I think we do need him. Regardless of his size, he is a good shot blocker and rim protector which we don't have other than Andre Drummond on the team. Aron Baynes only averages .3 blocks per game (sigh).

He is only a 66% career free throw ,we need someone better.

SVG also said he wanted Monroe back and look where he is now.

You think a 1.8 points per game and 1.9 rebounds per game is a solid back-up ? thats a bench warmer.

His block percentage was great last year, best in the league. His defense alone makes him a good third string center.

Rodman was 6'8 or 6'9 very good defender but he played 25-30 min a game .Joel is lucky to get 8 min is that worth a 3 million dollar contract ?

We need a third big here - none of our PF's are center-capable. If we don't bring back Joel, we'll need to sign another center anyways so bring back the guy familiar to the team, who his teammates seem to like and respect and who seems to want to be here as well. We have about $5M left under the cap - he probably costs 2 yrs 7M at this stage though.

(1)last year we had Monroe and Joel
(2)this year we have Ersan Ilyasova and Aron Baynes

(3)So we don't need joel anymore.

Ilyasova cannot play center.

We need a 3rd C.

Anthony is a good candidate. There are others as well. But Anthiny has experience here, with this coaching staff.

If we need another 3rd center don't you think we can do better with all the money we have left to improve the position, someone who can score more.

Names who I think would be interesting 3rd options (outside of Anthony):

Jeff Withey
Jerome Jordan
Bismack Biyombo
Pero Antic

I say he's severely underrated. At times when we needed someone to replace dre, Anthony was always ready and always bringing injury. He's a vet , and has proven himself reliable. If we don't sign him, we should sign a vet very similar to him

Detroit vs Everybody

Who said anything about a $3 million contract? He would likely come back on the veteran's minimum.

Solid 3rd string center. Fantastic locker room presence, professional, works hard and is always ready to be called upon to play.

People listing Joel's stat line and calling for a better player are ridiculous.
