Next trade is for a Power Forward

Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Fri Jul 10, 2015 2:16 am

The Pistons will not go into the season with only
E. Ilyasova/A. Tolliver at power forward

Miller is more of a SF unless he gain a lot of LBS

I see a trade coming soon 2 or 3 for 1-PF and martin hopefully will be part of the deal.

Marcus is 6'7 and will have match up problems against most players who are taller at that position,no really along term solution. We can put miller on a fat diet they wanted him to bulk up this summer and play PF in the summer leauges untill he got injured.

Current PF depth chart:

Ersan / Toliver / Miller (and Morris and Stanimal can play there as well)

Does this line-up at PF scare you ? not me i think we need a change here and only SVG can make this happen.

We are fine at pf imo. Like others have said Morris and Stanley can play there and also I could see pistons every once in a while playing Baynes there next to Dre.

They are all perfect PFs for SVGs system. All 5 guys will stretch the floor and give our C's room to operate in the paint.

Yes your right, i was wrong somewhere i read 6.7 ........well in that case were fine if they play him there but the Pistons are talking about playing him at SF instead.

Morris and Livernosova are tremendous upgrades at pf for stans sceheme.

tolliver is the definition of "it is what it is" but he does his role well.

When SVG goes Small they are going to over match every other team. That may be their strength.

we could have signed Biyombo for two years at 6 mil (Raptors cost)...
He would have provided defense at pf/c when needed (Anthony's role)

As others have said, we're fine at PF for this year. Are we set at the 4 for the next 4 years? NO. Is this a championship team, no, but we have some interesting matchups. Ersan is more than capable of fulfilling his role, and that's one spot where I feel we dont need the long term solution yet

You want a brute? Got Baynes!

You want a vet? Got Illyasova!

You want energy? Got Tolliver!

Wanna go small? Got Johnson!

Wanna get crazy? Go Morris!

At this stage we've also got Granger & Miller too.

Trade for a PF? Who are we gonna give up and who are we gonna get?

Long term yes, we need a PF. But I don't think SVG wants an entire starting line up of 25 & under dudes all making squillions at the same time - not yet anyway.

I think if the Mavs don't see themselves contending by the trade deadline, we could be in line to get Parsons. Marcus and jennings or Ilyasova and Jennings.

Um, I don't think you understand how in love with erson stan is. He's wanted this guy since his Orlando days. Unless erson shows major decline, or something else, he's our pf.

I like his game, and he's a perfect fit next to drummond, but I could absolutely see upgrading at anytime. My main concern about Erson is the rumour that he's actually quite a bit older then listed. Like 34. Google it. It may be nothing, but it's out there...
