OK, i have been fighting this out on many boards 1/2 think he's a power forward and 1/2 thing he's a small forward.
Because he is 6'9 people slot him in at PF.

Everything i heard from SVG says he a small forward and will play him there end of story.

They are looking for a big PF in the market they do not plan on Morris in that position.

He is a small forward who can play minutes at power forward also.

He is a tweener and not yet a proven starter at either SF or PF imo. He can play both positions but from what i've seen he seems to be better of the bench. He might be the starting SF (by default) this season because we don't really have other options (until Stanley proves to be better).
SVG didnt say anything about not playing him at PF, i believe he will but the Pistons certainly need him more at SF.
It will be interesting to see if he can defend the smaller and quicker SF wings because Josh certainly couldn't and he is similar built.

Does anyone know how many games he's played at PF and SF ???? this would be interesting.

Even in 1/2 the stat sites they list him as PF example ESPN :

He is a tweener and with sound help defense, he can solidly cover the three position on defense. From what I have seen of him playing, he seems to have more nimble feet than Josh. And his outside shot and handles are well beyond the trainwreck package of perimeter skills Josh Smith has.

He's two, (click click), two forwards in one!

Seriously, why does this matter so much? He's able to play both positions, but is a bit of a tweener as noted above. Given what we gave up in the trade and his contract, he seems like a good pickup.

Morris has been better, statistically, at SF than PF
