I seriously considered some horribly gimmicky "sequel" title for this new thread, but I decided not to subject you guys to that.

Carry on the discussion.

Danilio Gallinari is still on the trade block, Celtics supposedly interested. We're not in a position to actually add rotation players right now, but anyone think some sort of trade might be workable?

Is he a guy we'd even want at this point?

Danilio Gallinari seems to be a good fit for a backup stretch 4. We seemed to have filled our roster a bit, and I wouldn't want to give up much for him, but he seems like he would be a fit. $11.4M 1 year left on his deal. We could use up our cap space to make it more appealing, but not sure what the other 7M or so in salaries would need to be. Dinwiddie might be of interest being a Colorado man. Granger for filler. And Martin Ok, and a 2nd.

This is a good problem to have - we really don't have any crappy contracts, at least not crappy expensive ones. It makes it hard to make a trade for big salary guys. Brandon Jennings and Granger and a 2nd?

I'd be happy rolling the dice with Gallinari. That'd make our roster very, very deep.

I doubt he is available by trade, but Meyers Leonard is another player I would be targeting.

I can't believe how poorly people around the boards think of the Pistons. They actually belive (majority!)think we will be worse then last year. It would only take a quick minute to check the roster, to see how stupid that conjecture is. Unless, unless the overwhelming majority of people truly believe that reggie jackson is terrible. Terrible to the point of making this team, which is now built properly for Stan, a 28 win team.

Some people here have been so affected by just how poor the Pistons have been over the past several year, they can't see past thier own negativity.

This team is built properly for a SVG team. Stan is a winner. How, and why are people not seeing this? 24 wins? 28? 32, the same as last year? We went °500 after Smiths departure, that's 41-41 at least.

That's not to mention, absolute upgrades at the 3-4 positions, over last year. Pieces that fit! Even if you don't like, erson, morris, and johnson, they are better then thier replacements, and they actually fit.

So confusing, and I hope that when the season starts, and 20 games in, we get more hope in here, because quite frankly, it's depressing talking about the Pistons on RealGm.

Call me a homer, fine. But be damn sure, alot of people here (not so much the pistons board, minus a few notable exceptions)are like super anti-homers.

All I'm asking for, is just a little bit of fun, hopefull, pistons discussion.

I try not to take other teams boards too seriously on RealGM - there is certainly a homer bias, usually accompanied with a lack of knowledge for anything outside of their team. We absolutely should be better. We'll just have to wait and see when the season starts.

I always wanted Gallo but I think his health might be enough to sway away from that idea.

Plus I don't want it to eat minutes for Stanley, and would rather see him develop more with rigorous playing time.

We have no cap space available now with the Steve Blake acquisition. So any trade we make will have to be salary for salary match, save the allowed variance.

Drummond puts up monster numbers from time to time because he is being looked at as a franchise player by Detroit and is therefore given a very long leash on a bad team. Jonas is the starting center on a playoff team, where he is given a very short leash by Dwayne Casey and is pulled for every mistake that he makes. Drummond is a superior shot blocker to Jonas and maybe a marginally better rebounder, in every other statistical category Valanciunas is superior.

To correct myself according to Pincus Detroit had 4.6M left under the cap before officially signing Reggie Jackson. Marks is saying Detroit still has approx 2.9M under the cap (again until Reggie signs).

What they're saying is nuts, but in this case at least I sorta get it.

They have to tell themselves Drummond is nothing special and Jonas is just as good as him because they passed on Drummond in the draft (in a widely panned move) because they already had Jonas.

If we'd done something like that, we'd have apologists trying to rationalize it too.

I'm not sure what numbers Marks has been using. He was saying Detroit had about $2.8 million in cap room just this morning. Going up to $2.9 million after trading for Blake's bigger salary doesn't make sense.

It all depends on what contracts have officially been signed though. The two trades are likely on the books but I haven't seen anything else for official numbers or any renounced rights on Detroit's end.

People still think we have Josh Smith on the roster.

It's hard to take discussion on this site seriously at times. We either have an over reliance on advanced stats or just nonsense.
