#4-8 no way and how the hell is Minnesota so low?

LOL.

First off, Milwaukee at number one is comical. They actually traded the guy who made it all work when they got rid of Brandon Knight. They need a shooter at the one so unless they plan to turn rashad Vaughn into a point guard and bring MCW off the bench they are not in the top at all. If Jason Kidd is bold enough to make that move, I give them top 7 maybe.

Secondly, I don't know how Minnesota is not number one. Anybody that saw summer league can't deny Orlando Magic being in the top five. Then the jazz, the pelicans, and your Detroit Pistons round out the top five, not in that particular order though. Maybe the Wiz at 6.

Maybe they are counting coach age into it, because that list makes no sense.

That list is ass, Minnesota should be in the top 5 and Detroit and Sacramento should both be higher than Toronto and Charlotte. Orlando is too low as well.

Second, if the one and the five are the most important positions in basketball the what other teams have point guards and centers that complement each other perfectly and are under 25?

Jrue/Davis
Rubio/Towns
Jackson/Drummond

That'll give you your top 3 right there.
Knight/Monroe would have been good too - but oops.

Remember how all of espns draft gurus decided that drafting Stanley Johnson at 8 was a mistake? That right there will show you how much you need to listen to ESPN when it comes to basketball IQ.

Minnesota has two number 1 picks as well as other good young talent and they are last lol. This whole list is a joke though so I'm not too offended by the Pistons ranking. People are severely sleeping on this team though.

They should at least be top 5, what the hell is this list? And LOL at Philly being higher than Min and our Pistons.

How are they defining "young" and what makes a "core?" Is New Orleans that high simply based on Anthony Davis? Because Holliday and Evans aint that young anymore. Does the single best young player in the league really constitute a "core?"

And yeah, the entire list is laughable, so I'm not perturbed by our low ranking. The Pistons and the Magic certainly got hosed, but really, MIN fans should have the biggest beef; no way any team with Wiggins and Towns should be ranked that low.

Oh, and how the hell is PHI still so high? Are they giving them points for a never-been-healthy Embiid and and never-played-an-NBA-game Saric? To me, their current "young core" consists only of Okafor and Noel, which probably warrants them a low spot on the list. All their other assets are purely speculative at this point, and Embiid should be docked for the massive health question marks attached to him.

Wait, last thought that could explain both the BOS and PHI rankings! Are they including FUTURE assets as well? Does PHI get points for the LAL pick, and does BOS get points for their overflowing war chest? If so, that explains their rankings (even if I disagree with ESPN's system). I know it's an Insider article, but can anyone post or explain the methodology and criteria they used? Thanks!

They didn't include Reggie Jackson in that because he just missed the age cutoff. Pelton suggested that him being included would move us up a spot.

1. Milwaukee Bucks - understandable
2. New Orleans Pelicans - they have one player
3. Utah Jazz - understandable, but totally dependent on Exum being great. He needs a massive breakthrough
4. Boston Celtics. No freaking way.
5. Philadelphia 76ers. Again, no freaking way. They have NO players aside from Noel, who's meh.
6. Portland Trailblazers. Not a freaking chance.
7. Charlotte Hornets. Walker and Kaminsky - big whoop. They don't belong here.
8. Toronto Raptors. Again, no way. They have guys with pretty limited upside. Val is not turning out the way they hoped.
9. Orlando Magic. This is a group of 4 who I really like - major upside.
10. Detroit Pistons. We have the best young C (Davis is a PF), and probably a young elite PG, and I think KCP and Johnson are both going to be big time. We belong top 5, at least.
11. Sacramento Kings. LMAO - no way. McLemore is a bust. WCS is going to be nice, but that's all they've got, except the guy most likely to be suspended, Cousins.
12. Indiana Pacers. Turner is going to be a heck of a player. Who else?
13. Washington Wizards. They're ok, but isn't Wall outside the age limit? Wall, Beal (injury prone), Porter is meh.
14. San Antonio Spurs. Why?
15. Minnesota Timberwolves. Wiggins and Towns are both going to be big time stars.

I literally opened this thread assuming Minnesota would be number 1

In the end it doesn't mean a thing.

Maybe it's one of those intentionally bad lists, intended to generate page clicks and stir up controversy to get people talking in the comments section
